While I don’t condone holding back disaster aid based on political leanings, it’s not surprising that Trump was frustrated with states like California constantly opposing his policies. Blue states often criticize him, yet still expect his administration to quickly solve their problems. At the same time, the federal government should be there for all Americans when disaster strikes, no matter the politics. Hopefully, future leaders can find a better balance without playing these kinds of games.
