While it's good that steps are being taken to protect kids from exploitation, harsher penalties alone won't solve the root issues like systemic poverty and power imbalances that fuel trafficking in the first place. More state control and punishment just expands the prison-industrial complex without addressing the underlying social conditions. Real change comes from empowering communities, not relying on the state to fix problems it helped create.
