I would support capable men in that desire. I would encourage women to find other ways of serving.

If I were a healthcare, cyber security, or law worker, then I'd likely refuse. My entire life, I've been told that I most likely wouldn't do great in the military, or that I wouldn't be able to join due to health problems in different aspects.

Id probably be sad since they will most likely die, but let them decide what they do with their own life i guess.

I am a woman and served in a combat role, as long as they are held to the same standards.

 @9XZJZXPConstitution from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

If someone close to me wanted to do that then I would try to stop them because they have a lot to live for

I, myself, would like to join the military. I don't believe we should be trying to control what our loved ones decide to do with their life. Obviously, it can be nerve-wracking imagining someone you love in a combat situation, but it's a matter of personal autonomy. One thing I can certainly say on the topic, is that we need more gender equality and supervision over women in the military. Military rape is incredibly common among women, and something needs to happen to change that.

I would be proud to know someone that is willing to offer up the most selfless act one can do, which is signing a blank check to the US and her people for an amount of up to and including their own life.

By all means go ahead. Just because someone is a woman that shouldn't mean they can't fight for their country.

 @9XH7FZ6Constitution from Minnesota  answered…7mos7MO

If they were close to me I wouldn’t want them to join because something bad could happen.

I would support them in their choice, I think people should not judge others' personal career choices and if someone I know wants a combative job, that's their choice and they can reap the benefit or not.

If they are physically able to do the same job then go ahead. But most can’t. The standard should be the standard, no matter gender.

 @9WZZMC7Constitutionanswered…7mos7MO

i would be okay with it as long as they know what there doing and dont go into the force just to leave

I wouldn't mind someone close to me wanting to serve in the armed forces as they are serving their country or our country in most cases. Though the military often times lures in people with money and other things to get people to join. Though I do agree with the armed branches paying for your collage tuition. But instead of offering only money, they should promote recruitment as you being a hero. Wanting to die for our country and kill anyone threatens our integrity and homeland.

 @9X39J56Libertarian from New York  answered…7mos7MO

Not a fan of the military, personally wouldn't join it, but I wouldn't stop someone else from doing so.

They should be certain of what they are doing and see if their life is worth giving for a country, it is respectable but their lives are at risk
