I would argue that perhaps - just PERHAPS - Biden, as president of the U.S., has VERY knowledgeable expertise advising him on this matter. And I suspect that the argument for OR against the deal isn’t quite as decisively one direction as YOUR *opinion* claims. This deal comes at a particularly sensitive time following the Biden administration’s push, virtually single-handedly, to turn the tide toward U.S. domestic output of manufacturing and labor after decades of outsourcing both - a great harm that had been perpetrated on the American people by greedy corporations and their allies in congress for the last 50+ years.
I suspect Japan being a geopolitical “ally” has little to do with the matter, except as a matter of extra care in deft diplomacy on the back end, and that they will continue to be so, given the mutual interests of both countries.
