I would not feel safe in a community that does not reflect my true identity, because of medical reasons. If there is a medical situation and I need to identify who the person is I need to "identify" the gender of that person. You are free to be who you are but I believe how you were born should go on your license.
This new policy in Texas is just another example of government overreach, telling people how they can or cannot identify themselves. It's a personal issue, not something that should be dictated by state bureaucracy. If someone wants to change their gender marker on their driver's license, it should be their right to do so without unnecessary barriers.
