I can't believe California is pushing the envelope again with a law that completely sidelines parents in critical decisions about their children's lives. It's one thing to advocate for the safety and rights of LGBTQ students, but it's entirely another to strip parents of their right to know and be involved in significant aspects of their children's development. This law seems to undermine the family unit, assuming that the state knows better than the parents themselves. It's concerning that we're moving towards a society where parental rights are being so drastically eroded. Whatever happened to open dialogue and working together for the wellbeing of the child? This law, while it may have good intentions for some, could pave the way for more divisive measures that further alienate parents from being able to protect and guide their own children.
