Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on 10 July urged his NATO partners to show the same “unity and consistency” when it comes to Gaza as they have demonstrated toward Ukraine.
“If we tell our citizens that we support Ukraine because we defend international law, it is the same thing we have to do with Gaza,” Sanchez said during NATO’s 75th anniversary summit held in Washington.
“We cannot be accused of applying double standards that would weaken our support for Ukraine. On the contrary, we demand the same unity and consistency for Gaza as we do in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” the premier added.
He also stressed the need “to create the conditions for an immediate and urgent ceasefire” for Gaza, adding that “there is a real risk of escalation to Lebanon.”
Since the start of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza last October, western governments and corporate media have been repeatedly accused of double standards in fully supporting the Israeli offensive while condemning Russia’s alleged atrocities in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Sánchez is absolutely right, there is a double standard, especially in the western world and in NATO countries in the treatment of Ukraine vs Gaza. We need to have a ceasefire and an end to the occupation and genocide in Palestine.

Well if the Arab world shows unity against Russia and the West against Israel both would be happy. Sadly there is no unity against Russia from the Arab world because of . I think they should make the first step.
