Press coverage today has shifted to Kamala Harris being more electable than Trump:
"Vice President Harris is running closer to former President Trump than President Biden is, according to a new poll.
The CNN poll released Tuesday found that 45 percent of registered voters would support Harris in a hypothetical match-up with Trump.
She is 2 percentage points behind the former president, who received 47 percent support in a head-to-head contest with Harris. Five percent of respondents said they would choose someone else.
The debate has thrown Harris into the national spotlight as she navigates defending Biden and his ability to serve while some people have called on her to replace him. Former Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) said Tuesday that Harris should replace the president at the top of the ticket, adding that she will “destroy Trump in debate.”
Despite these worries and calls to drop out of the race, the Biden campaign and its surrogates have maintained that the president is still the best candidate to beat Trump.
Biden’s team has tried to quell concerns about his debate, emphasizing that Biden will not be leaving the race."

I remain thoroughly unconvinced that Kamala Harris is an electorally superior option for Dems than a partially sentient Joe Biden
@WiseSmeltDemocrat2yrs2Y
She’s not but it’s the right thing to do at the moment. I don’t think Kamala will decide to run - even if she carries out the remainder of Joe’s term. She’ll be pressured to step aside so the establishment’s preferred candidate can step in.
Every time she opens her mouth she loses 1% support
She couldn’t win a primary. She is literally a DEI hire. It’s clear her and Bus Racist Biden don’t even like each other, maybe even hate each other.
As every Democrat stupidly turns to Kamala, remember that it isn’t donors or a conspiracy or the DNC foisting this on anyone. It’s raw mass desire for hierarchy.
What would you like to see happen?
Open convention
They’d have a hell of a time just herding the cats needed to nominate Harris on the fly if it came to it. These conventions are big parties for activists, hacks, and hangers-on. Nobody who’d know how to actually run one requiring real decisions and votes and trading is even alive
@GeldingSkylarGreen2yrs2Y
There are a lot of people who think they know exactly what the Democratic power brokers are up to, and none of these people realize there are no power brokers and it's all just a bunch of idiots fumbling around in the dark.
@CaucusSalamiDemocrat2yrs2Y
How do you explain how all the candidates dropped out in unison in 2020?
@KnowledgeLukeSocialist2yrs2Y
Idk man. The democrats could at least act like they were the moral people they pretend to be if they used the 25th, and didn’t do a switcheroon to an unelected person like the “democracy savers” they are
@L1bertyMackenzieForward2yrs2Y
The process by which a lesser known candidate would have gradually built awareness/support/legitimacy and demonstrated the sort of breakout political talent that would have explained replacing a President and supplanting a VP can't and won't be replicated in a convention hall.
@HopefulLemurIndependent2yrs2Y
With all this disastrous internal polling about Biden getting leaked, I’m curious why the Democrats wasted time w/ that garbage hit piece about RFK Jr in Vanity Fair today.
@BitternAndyUnity2yrs2Y
Dem insiders and pundits are the biggest authoritarian lackeys. They suddenly profess "shock" at Biden's debate performance because they previously believed the laughable White House spin and denied relevant polling.
They politely acceded to holding no primary. Now half of them want to coronate Kamala, because they think she's magically entitled to the job due to her inspiring race and gender, despite being a horrible presidential candidate and a horrible Vice President, and who essentially had to use elite guilt-trip blackmailing tactics to get to where she is
They poll about the same now, I think Harris at least has room to grow while Biden only has room to fall. I wouldn’t personally run Harris but I think the capacity to engage in a vigorous campaign and speak during the debates would be an asset.
@SheepishBoarsForward2yrs2Y
Now is the time to take a chance on a third party. Robert Kennedy Jr.
Remember when
Kamala Harris
smiles and claps along to a Puerto Rico protest song but stops after aide tells her that they’re protesting her?
She doesn’t have dementia.
She’s just not smart.
Ford won a hotly contested primary in 1976 against Reagan. Kamala has won literally nothing. Mike Bloomberg and Tulsi Gabbard got more delegates than her in 2020
