Jen O’Malley Dillon held the virtual meeting with about 500 donors, whose pictures spread across 21 pages of Zoom screens.
The meeting was called in hopes of easing the tensions and answering questions top Democrats have been raised in response to Biden’s dismal debate performance Thursday night.
Dillon offered no indication that Biden was considering changing course, three participants on the call told CNN, as she offered a staunch defense of his health.
She pointed to the president’s health report released by his doctors earlier this year, which declared him fit to serve.
“He’s probably in better health than most of us,” Dillon said, according to two of the participants, one of whom said the comments were offensive and dismissive of the real concerns about Biden in the wake of his debate performance.

Again, their position is untenable. They can't tell the truth, that their candidate is well below the threshold of someone who should be president for another 4 years, so they tell obvious lies that nobody but the dumbest partisans will buy.
Maybe nominate Kamala, Biden's hand-chosen VP, so you can at least be truthful with the American public? That's the adult and responsible thing to do. Instead, these selfish staffers will take down the party brand with them.

We also must be realistic. A non-democratic nomination process will not advance the future of democracy.
The current VP, despite her limitations, will need to be be at the top of any replacement ticket.
Harris-Whitmer.
This is what I don't get. From my perch, it appears the Democrats at the top of the ticket are going down huge.
The team around them is trying to stay in power, so they are singing and dancing for all they are worth. But there is no unseeing and unhearing President Biden in the last debate. Having THAT in the Oval Office puts the nation at risk, and everyone knows that.
The part of the Democrat Party which is not brain-damaged, which comprises the vast majority of it, should be doing something to prevent a total debacle in November. In a situation like this, you'd think someone somewhere would be churning to revamp the ticket, but so far I just don't see any substantial progress in making that happen.
