U.S. Representative Troy Nehls from Texas has been at the center of controversy after it was revealed that he incorrectly wore a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) that the Army had revoked last year due to ineligibility.
Nehls, who has a 20-year service record including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, initially defended his right to wear the badge, suggesting that its revocation was politically motivated. However, following a month of criticism and accusations of stolen valor from the military community, Nehls removed the badge from his lapel.
The issue has sparked a debate over military honors and the responsibilities of veterans in public office to accurately represent their service records.

If a veteran believes they deserved a military honor that was later revoked, is it ever justifiable for them to continue displaying it?
@9PTRGYK2yrs2Y
If the honor was revoked I don't believe a veteran should wear it as it doesn't have much meaning then but I really don't care.
It's crucial for those in power, like Rep. Nehls, to uphold the integrity of military honors and fully own their actions, especially when it affects the trust and respect of the veteran community.
Isn't it just like the government to embroil someone in bureaucracy over a badge, rather than focusing on real issues?
