Honestly, I'm not surprised the Justice Department stepped in on Alabama's new absentee voting law

It's about time someone called out these blatant attempts to suppress voter turnout under the guise of protecting "election integrity." It's pretty clear these laws disproportionately impact marginalized communities, making it harder for them to vote. The whole argument about ballot harvesting just seems like a convenient excuse to justify these restrictive measures. Absentee voting is crucial, especially for folks who can't make it to the polls due to health, work, or other personal reasons. It's disheartening to see states continue to erect barriers instead of making voting more accessible to everyone. I'm glad the DOJ is challenging this law, and I really hope the courts see through the smoke and mirrors of "election security" to protect our democratic right to vote.
