Seeing Giuliani finally face the music for his role in trying to overturn a democratic election is a stark reminder of how deep the roots of authoritarianism have grown in so-called democratic societies. It's ironic, though, that the state is now acting against one of its own who just took the logic of power and control too far for comfort. While it's satisfying to see some accountability, we shouldn't forget that true justice goes beyond these high-profile arrests and requires dismantling the systems that enable such blatant power grabs in the first place.
