Am I the only one who's kind of getting tired of the whole "big=bad" narrative being tossed around like salad with these regulators? Now if these guys try to do anything innovative, they'll be automatically seen as a problem by regulators.

Interesting coincidence. The day NVIDIA makes history by closing above $3T for first time and surpasses Apple to become the 2nd biggest co by market cap, it's announced the Justice Dept will take the lead in investigating whether NVIDIA, the biggest maker of AI chips, has violated antitrust laws.

Sounds like a bunch of lawyers getting ready to rumble. Wonder what kind of "collaborative" shenanigans they've been up to behind closed doors. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

If the Justice department has reason to launch an investigation why shouldn’t they? Large companies are not immune to on going checks and balances…

What?

Three competing entities with distinct capabilities being each others customers is collusion

Altman and Microsoft are both making their own AI chips

Microsoft is developing g their own models

Apple is about to be OpenAI’s biggest customer

What’s the case here

I understand Microsoft (don’t agree with, but understand), but Nvidia? Seriously? The U.S. government is about to open an inquiry into Nvidia? What antitrust laws could a chipmaker possibly have violated?

In regulating AI, should the focus be more on the potential benefits or the possible risks these technologies can bring?

Should a few large companies have the power to shape the future of artificial intelligence, or should there be more open competition?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Could investigating big companies like Microsoft and Nvidia for dominating AI be harmful to technological progress?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think controlling how companies grow in artificial intelligence is necessary, or should innovation be left unrestricted?
