No, the government should incentive more investment into sophisticated public transportation systems

 @9V75DN4Republican from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

No, because the idea of electric cars is very dangerous as when in car wrecks, it is common to have the doors lock up and have no way to open them besides cutting the person out of their car.

 @B3YGTDHPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

No, they shouldn't be able to interfere with consumer choices or the free market. And, electric vehicles can be just as dangerous to the environment as emissions. And Elon Musk already said himself it would be impossible to replace all gas running vehicles, and how dangerous it would be.

 @B3V4W9FWomen’s Equality from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

When they find a way to make electric or hybrid cars without it being crazy expensive or stop having a lot of issues it should be recommended more but now i dont think its fair to since many dont have the money and electric cars still have many issues

 @B2J2526 from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

If the government was not being lobbied against by large automotive companies then ideally we would have a comprehensive nationwide transportation system and the point would be moot.

 @B2BGQX3 from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

electric/hybrid cars vs gas cars is like rearranging the chairs on the titanic. there are much more important things

 @B26K7YH from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

No, personal vehicles are dangerous and inefficient, electric or gas, and we should be focusing on improving public transportation

 @B25MNDM from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, however, cars are the most inefficient method of transportation, so the government should focus on improving public transportation

 @B25MNDM from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

No, electric vehicles are just as harmful to the environment as gas cars. The government should prioritize public transportation instead

 @B24X3M9American Solidarity from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

No. Maybe offer incentives for hybrid/electric powertrains but ultimately let consumers have the choice

 @9ZTG2WR from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but we should cut car dependency altogether and I'm concerned about the ethics of the acquisition of materials used for electric car manufacturing

 @9ZPFFDV from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but the government should incentive more investment into sophisticated public transportation systems

 @9ZP6MLSGreen from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but the government should focus on alternative forms of transportation to eliminate reliance on cars

 @9ZN8SJD from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

No, the government should focus on eliminating reliance on personal vehicles and increasing support for public transportation instead.

 @9ZHN3HJ from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

You need a more balanced approach that combines electric vehicles with other ways to reduce our carbon imprint

 @9YP5HV3 from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Hybrids make more sense in terms of production cost, decreased fuel consumption but reliability from both sources of motorized energy.

 @9YM3JN8Republican from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

No, gas cars are amazing, electric cars can fail us. Gas cars have been around for a long time, why change it now? If it could of been done a long time ago,….? I think the electric cars are really dumb and they absolutely have no purpose. If we have to “charge” it at home, our electricity bills will go up, think smarter not harder.

 @9YLCPLJ from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

The government needs to ensure that the infrastructure for electric vehicles to be usable for transportation.

 @9YFNRLM from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

No, state and federal government should invest in public transit, like high speed rail that connect all major cities in the US.

 @9Y3WF8L from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

No, but if the government will pay for my electric car in full and cover any costs in getting said vehicle then that’s a different story. But that won’t happen.

 @9XV9PZD from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

I have mixed feelings. While EV’s are a good choice for environmental reasons, gas vehicles have their own benefits and have some more fuel-efficient versions.

 @9XKXZJL from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, but the costs of electric vehicles should be lowered and older cars be able to be recycled for money to afford the more climate-friendly modes of transportation.

 @9XHWGKXNo Labels from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Only if assistance is given to low income families and more funding is given to public transportation

 @9XGLJRY from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

The government should focus on having steady and long lasting renewable electricity sources before implementing a rule like this.

 @9X2QCDD from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Yes and offer buybacks for less fuel efficient vehicles or offer some sort of credit for purchasing a vehicle that meets the new requirements

 @9WLRTW5 from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Electrical is just as damaging so hybrid would be best while also manufacturing vehicles with better fuel efficiency

 @9VXRQVJSocialist from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Maybe, but not until there is sufficient nationwide public transportation to serve as an alternative to high cost electric vehicles

 @9TY6J4Z from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

No because our infrastructure is not set up to handle large scale vehicles of this nature. Instead they should increase funding to help strengthen the infrastructure then look into this idea

 @9TFMKT4 from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Rather than focusing on cutting the emissions on cars, which still emit significant pollution in the mass production of their parts and the electricity used to charge them more often than not are derived from fossil fuels, we need to focus on providing an alternative through public transportation to better allocate funds

 @9RKC3MS from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

No, not until there is further research on the long term effectiveness and life-span of electric / hybrid cars.

 @9ZJ5JBWDemocrat from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

At some point in the future we are going to have to use clean based energy due to our climate change but we cannot rush it! We need our energy to be 100% safe, effective, and reliable.

 @9NVXLS8 from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

No, but promote the use of electric/hybrid public transportation methods to reduce carbon emissions.
