Electric and hybrid vehicles use electricity and a combination of electricity and fuel, respectively, to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and decrease emissions. Proponents argue that it significantly cuts pollution and advances the transition to renewable energy sources. Opponents argue that it increases vehicle costs, limits consumer choice, and may strain the electric grid.

How electric cars are better for overall driving causing less pollution there is special parts of a gas powered vehicle and the pollution caused by making electric vehicles is also extreme
@B3Y5FBS3mos3MO
No, not until we have true renewable energy sources and materials that are made cheaper fir consumers and environmentally better to extract.

The batteries used for electric cars use rare minerals. Hemp can be converted into a clean gas for cars that are already using fuel. Conversion of fossil fuels to hemp fuel seems like the smarter move!
No, there are blackouts in California from everyone trying to charge their electric cars. The increase in need for coal and other fuel sources to power the grids is an equal amount of pollution if not more.

Limit the amount of cars being sold, transitioning to more sustainable methods of transit like walking, biking, or public transit
@9XX3ZGBPeace and Freedom7mos7MO
Depends, if a certain date is imposed, many people may go without cars for a while, stunting the economy and has other effects
@9XTMFCT7mos7MO
I think whoever owns a vehicle should decide for themselves whether they want one to be electric or hybrid, it depends on the preference.
@9XFRRST7mos7MO
They need to require all new cars to state where they got their resources to build the car from in order to know car company's aren't abusing cheap materials from child labor based places and than make people pay thousands more than what it costed to make the car.
@9XCJBCX7mos7MO
No, electric cars are not more sustainable than gas powered vehicles. Hybrids should be adopted over electric.
@9X7DCJ37mos7MO
I think that would help a lot to reduce gas emissions, which implies a transition towards electric vehicles...
@9WVBJJ37mos7MO
By a certain date may be to difficult, instead, we should attempt to increase production of electric vehicles and encourage a transition to electric vehicles.

For gas cars don't throw them away just at least figure out how to convert a gas engine to an electric engine for example RB26DETT from gas to electric and still look and be called RB26DETT.
I also just want less child labor for EV cars and want pop-up headlights back.
Even though I am very tempted to say yes, the likelihood of us actually getting there by that date, unless it is REALLY far away from now, I would say maybe
@9T43BZG9mos9MO
No, that's just a sneakily regressive tax on working people. We need to be replacing cars & car infrastructure with low-cost mass transit, safe bike paths, and accessible sidewalks.
