Devastating Floods and Lahar Flows Sweep Through Indonesia's Sumatra, Claiming Lives

Indonesia's Sumatra island has been struck by a catastrophic natural disaster, as heavy rains triggered flash floods and cold lava flows, resulting in significant loss of life and damage.

The calamity, which unfolded in the province of West Sumatra, has claimed at least 28 lives, with several others injured or missing. The floods, compounded by the torrents of cold lava, known as lahar, have wreaked havoc on communities, washing away homes and leaving residents in dire straits.
