On one hand, it’s great to see efforts being made to make homeownership more manageable for folks who've been hit hard by the skyrocketing property values. Nobody should have to live in fear of being priced out of their own home because of uncontrollable market trends. However, I'm really concerned about the potential fallout on local government services. Capping property taxes might mean less money for crucial services like public education, infrastructure, and emergency services. It feels like a Band-Aid solution that doesn't address the root issues of housing affordability and equitable funding for public services. We need to find a balance that supports homeowners without stripping away the resources that our communities rely on.
