If the economy is slowing down, nobody told the labor market.Employers added 275,000 jobs in February, the Labor Department reported Friday, in another month to exceed expectations after January’s surprising surge.
The unemployment rate increased to 3.9 percent.The repeat performance is additional evidence that four years after the start of the pandemic, America’s jobs engine is nowhere near running out of steam.“
We’ve been expecting a slowdown in the labor market, a more material loosening in conditions, but we’re just not seeing that,” said Rubeela Farooqi, chief economist at High Frequency Economics.
Six months ago, economists predicted much more modest employment growth, with hiring concentrated in a few industries. But while some pandemic-inflated industries have shed jobs, expected downturns in sectors like construction haven’t materialized.
Rising wages, attractive benefits and more flexible work schedules have drawn millions of workers off the sidelines, with elevated levels of immigration adding to the labor supply.

Does a strong job market alter your view on the importance of higher education versus entering the workforce straight after high school?
@9KPMWWV2yrs2Y
No, instead I will go to trade school and get a degree in something I am passionate about and I will find a job that suits me and my standards.
@9KPLY5H2yrs2Y
A strong market does alter my view of the importance of higher education because I am concerned about the debt I would have after college.
@9KPPLZKRepublican2yrs2Y
go get money right out of school
@9KPNWT22yrs2Y
A strong job market doesn't alter my view on the importance of education because not everyone prefers to work in that field and you can still be successful without a higher education than high school.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Would you feel more motivated to join the workforce knowing that job growth is strong, and why?
@9KPJ3Z82yrs2Y
It seems like it's getting harder and harder for the younger generation to find work, and it shouldn't be that way. If I knew that there is a chance I get a job right after college, then I would go to college and be more motivated.
@9KPHWVH2yrs2Y
Yes, a strong work force motivates more people

All jobs that Biden & the Far-Left destroyed, just being re-created. Not a thinking man in this country believes the economy is doing well.
