It’s hard to overstate how insignificant “the squad” is outside of narrow worldview of left-leaning media

Except for Fox News, of course, which keeps the squad - especially AOC - front and center with daily content that does immense favors for Trump. There is nothing noble about being “unapologetic’ about ideas and statements the require balance and a respectful deference to other perspectives. Nor is there anything remarkable about youthful politicians routinely blurting out statements that should have been more considered. I’m most troubled, however, by this op-Ed’s celebration of identity for its own sake and deliberate divisiveness as some form of overdue revenge against the white establishment. We don’t need more fuel poured over the flames of resentment motivating the worst side of our polarized cultural and political tribes. We need an adult in the room who can unite everyone, or at least try. We had that in Obama and remember - lots of deplorables voted for him, some even twice. Our better nature is out there. The squad does not seek it.
