Yes, Hamas is a terrorist group. Same as Zionist terrorist groups like Irgun in the 1940's, which largely contributed to Israel becoming a nation.

I think you're confusing Irgun with the Stern Gang. Both are gone today. Hamas remains and apparently has branches in the US.

The bombing of the King David hotel was probably the most successful use of terrorism in history because it led directly to the creation of the Israel.
