Should the Catholic Church still have a say in political matters, like laws about marriage and education?

i dont believe the Catholic Church should have a say in political matters since it only represents the conservative side of the political spectrum and can overrule the votes of the more liberal party.

The Catholic Church is a religious institution, not a political one. Separate church and state, why should they have a say in marriage policy?
