Individuals are responsible to an extent but society as a whole needs to shift in a more environmentally friendly direction which requires the mass cooperation and/or else governmental or corporate influences.

 @9H7YDW3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I do believe that single actions that are all combined with each other do indeed have a vast effect on the climate, and corporations and the government should also change their ways to reduce these things.

 @9H9RJWS from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

While individuals should take steps to decrease their impact of the environment it should also be the responsibility of big corporations and goverment to decrease their footprint as they have the greater impact.

 @9HBJWCW from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that majority of our climate issues are from big corporations and 1 person isn't going to help much, but if we all make changes , It would help

 @9HCMLVN from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Changes need to be made everywhere, everyone is doing individual actions that impact the state of the world and by everyone doing it, it no longer becomes and individual issue.

 @9HBHDK3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H9S767 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

i do think individuals have an impact, but it is on coporations to make change

 @9H7MD7K from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, i think it can destroy our world as we know it for our grand kids and our kids if we don't change something about it.

 @9HBYH2M from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes individual actions can matter, but changes must also be made at larger levels.

 @9HBQ6BKPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

People have the overall power to make change, they just have to be dedicated

 @9H9QH4B from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I would say the impact on the environment has been done solely independently but it should be increased to be done by government because then it’s not just one person trying to do one thing at a time is a group of people doing more than one thing at once to either make a positive impact or a negative impact but either way we can’t have just one individual doing it all.

 @9H8V55V from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes because it can cause a chain reaction to make it so people make more of a difference

 @9HBMB4F from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Your actions not only determine how many GHGs you physically put in the atmosphere, but also, perhaps more importantly, your words and actions influence others.

 @9H7NQ98Republican from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it is all too much malarky. Let them practice their business as long as it is ethical, China has more emissions than over half the world.

 @9HC5HDC from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I do believe it is more on the corporate level but individual actions also are another factor in having a significant impact on the environment.

 @9HBPVBK from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, I believe that each person has an impact on the environment whether negative or positive

 @9HBXFWX from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Both individual actions and governmental actions can have significant impacts on the environment.

 @9HBWQM5 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HCDJX3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that people have an impact but i think the government is the only one who can really change it.

 @9H9W8WB from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Individuals and the government would have a better impact on the environment. Working together instead of by yourself is way better

 @9HBK45S from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Changes need to be made on a government and corporate level. Riding my bike won't save the environment.

 @9HB8VL2 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I don’t think people are able to get everyone to make those small changes so maybe if the government did something it’s would help what those small groups have done to make a real difference

 @9HCPK3NRepublican from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Ants are small insects, but when they work together they can lift huge burdens. Work together to save the environment!

 @9HBRFC6 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HB4VC3 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

it is more important for changes to be made at a governmental or corporate level

 @9HB293K from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that more people deciding to be more environmentally friendly would help significantly, but I believe that corporations making the options for economic health more available would help.

 @9HBZNNT from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I would argue that making movements and statements by one can be heard by higher ups but these movement impact shouldn't be outrageous. They should be done in a calm matter to be heard start petition and make your voice be heard in peace not in a form of terrorism or vandalism.

 @9HBKJMZGreen from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes everyone matters especially celebrities who use a lot of fuel for private transportation and also have an influence on the common man.

 @9HCJW6R from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HBKFFW from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

There are a drastic amount of people in comparison to the amount of government officials, so more of a difference can be made with individual people.

 @9HBWYH8Republican from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H95XD9 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HCCMWF from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HCVJHW from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that both individual actions and government, corroborate effect the environment.

 @9HBQZRYWorkers from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes because people are the cause of most animal life dying off because of carelessness

 @9HCPK3NRepublican from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H9BJDY from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, individual actions can help remove tons of pollution from the environment

 @9TDXJD9 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

One person taking actions to cut their carbon footprint won’t impact much on the macro level; but if millions of people take those actions, then it does make an impact. So, I still think it’s important to take actions at the individual level to make what little impact we can. With that said, government/corporate action is necessary for sustainable macro-level change.

 @9TBB6LQ from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @9T8TV3G from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

It's more important at a corporate level by creating incentives to change to greener energy.

 @9T9MTMZ from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I think that the government has more of an impact on environmentalism than individuals, but not always for the best.

 @9T8FVKC from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Government level. The government needs to have more regulations on co2 emissions and how many fossil fuels big companies are allowed to use.

 @9T87SXDProgressive from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @p.voight316  from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Changes should be made on a governmental or corporate level to ensure significant impact.

 @9T7PFMV from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I think the most important thing is for change to be made in the government and corporate level, but individuals need to stand up too and make changes.

 @9T62MSRDemocrat from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I believe that even the actions of people can effect the government, and sometimes it's good for the people to help with putting their input or opinion into the environment, as well as the government doing it as well.

 @9T23MP5 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I think everyone should try to help and the government should do more to help too.

 @9SZV72T from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Unfortunately, some people will not execute individual actions (I see this all the time). In fact, corporate practices (like plastic packaging) make it impossible to to do so. I believe governmental intervention and regulation is required. We have one planet and we're currently on the path to destroying it. Corporate profits aren't going be worth diddly if we have nowhere to live.

 @9SZJ6D7 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

More impact is always made by the government and corporations that’s an undeniable fact.

 @9SZDG8LSocialist  from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Individual actions hold great value to the environment! One person can influence the whole nation and everyone will be on board by choice instead of by force.

 @9SZ9FKR from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I believe that they do have an impact that can be significant but it is more important for changes to be made on a bigger scale such as the government or corporate level

 @9SYX4BCDemocrat from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @9SYPKJ2 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @9SYLD89 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I think that the individuals should have a say in what the government does but to be honest I feel more at ease if the government was making the decisions

 @9SYJ6WVRepublican from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @9HGB5FDDemocrat  from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Changes at the governmental and corporate level will similarly affect the individual level.

 @9SY4SRTLibertarian from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I don't know if significant is the right term but individuals can make change but actions from higher govermental levels are more impactful.

 @9SX439MDemocrat from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

individual actions are important because they lead to change at a government level

 @9STDRCH from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

if some people want others to stop using cars then they need to take the lead.

 @9SS7LGMPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I believe that individual AND governmental change will be the best for the environment

 @9SS5BWF from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

yes l beclive that individula actions can have a significatiimpact on the evironment

 @9SR7YB5 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

 @9SPP4QJWomen’s Equality from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I think we can make a difference in the ecosystems around us but changing a whole environment can be hard unless there is a big team and I think it would be great if the government helped out.

 @9SP4JRM from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

I believe changes should be made on a corporate and governmental level because it is not the average people who are causing environmental damage it is big businesses and the rich who see private jets etc, while the average person is being blamed

 @9SMKSRD from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

The corporate level, primarily rich people, has a more significant impact on the environment than the average citizen.

 @9SMKCRCRepublican  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

No I don't think individuals have a major impact on the environment. I think we should conserve what we can and take care of the planet, but not limit or ban things in the name of climate.

 @9SMKHBL from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

More important at governmental/corporate level, with the exception of certain rich people.

 @9SM92PW from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Corporations are responsible for the most pollution and therefore should be accountable and financially responsible for the cleaning up the mess they made.

 @9SM6R96Democrat from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Governmental or corporate level. The actions of the individual are enabled or hampered by what comes from governmental or corporate output.

 @9SLLJL7 from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Changes on a corporate level are much more important, since many extremely rich people or corporations cause more carbon emissions in a day than the average person does in their lifetime

 @9SL5R33Progressive from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Much more important for changes to be made at a government or corporate level. Although it also matters what the richest among us do a lot more than other individual people.

 @9SK55RP from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Changes need to be made at a government level if things are going to change. Leaders need to promote the benefits of environmental topics instead of the economic benefits for pipelines, etc.

 @9SK4DBNLibertarian from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Both individual actions and changes from governmental and corporate level are all important

 @9SK2M43 from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

it’s more important for changes to be made at a governmental and corporate level

 @9N2287B  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

It may have some but not significant impact. At the corporate level it be more significant, but ultimately little impact.

 @9SGJJ8D from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

The government can play a major role in terms of assisting with the problem of environmentalism, but it lies within individuals to make the changes needed to have a better impact on the world.

 @9SGJFP7 from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

I don't think anyone should do anything I'm not ill be long gone before this is a real issue so not my problem.

 @agentgodivaDemocrat  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

It is more important for changes to be made at a governmental or corporate level.

 @9SG866R from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Individual actions can and do impact the environment, but small individuals who want to change the environmental impacts caused by others don't have a large say. Therefore, the government should handle the enforcement of environmental laws and changes.

 @9SFFTGD from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

No, I believe that large group actions can have the most impact on the environment.

 @9SFBKPN from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Yes I believe that we all have an impact on the enviorment its not just the government

 @9SF8K9M from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

while people can make a difference the government and bigger company's must do their part as well.

 @9SF2QBD from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

I think it needs to start with actions of individuals and small organizations, but eventually the government needs to step in.

 @9SDNFBZ from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

While I do believe that an individuals actions can have an impact I also believe that the government should find a way to make things right and enforce those rules.

 @ariiX07Democrat  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

 @9SCDBCKIndependent from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

It's definitely more important for changes to be made at a government and corporate level. If one person becomes more environmentally friendly, that's one person out of 350 million, that's nothing in comparison. One person can't build a dam, or a solar panel field, or a nuclear reactor. They can't lower how much pollution is produced per second at these factories throughout the world. It takes the governments and corporations to really create change; it takes all hands on deck really.

 @9SCCZRX  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Yes the first way to move forward is to cut down on c02 and fossil fuels by corporate industry's and government

 @9SBTB5W from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Individual actions can have a significant impact on the environment, however, having the support from the governmental or the corporate level is also extremely important.

 @9SBBP5P from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

 @9SBBH79 from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO
