In 2022 September 2022 the U.S. Transportation Department approved electric vehicle charging station plans for all 50 states, Washington and Puerto Rico covering about 75,000 miles of highways. The November 2021 $1 trillion infrastructure bill provides $5 billion to help states install EV chargers along interstate highways over five years. Federal funds will cover 80% of EV charging costs, with private or state funds making up the balance. Proponents argue that electric vehicles reduce the use of fossil fuels, and the national network of charging stations will help drivers overcome “r…

Yes, but I am skeptical about the viability of electric vehicles
@98PM3GN2yrs2Y
No, electric charging stations should be provided by private businesses in response to local demand.
@VulcanMan6 2yrs2Y
Private businesses clearly don't care to do it, as evidenced by the fact that it doesn't exist...

No Electric Vehicles Are Just as bad with the lithium Ion batteries that are extremely Toxic to the environment
@9WNGZDG7mos7MO
Only if the tax payers receive the benefits of using them without a corporation taking all the profits
@9TRSXXQ8mos8MO
Yes, but with the idea that they will sell them off to private companies that can bid on them at some point in the future.
@9R595KM10mos10MO
Yes, but only after we are able to improve our electric grids, as they currently couldn't support most of the population owning and driving one.
@9KCPWWZ1yr1Y
No, as of now the electric car still relies on batteries that end up in a landfill and hazardous. Until best available technology is available, large infrastructure systems need to wait.
Yes, as long as they’re powered by renewable sources but we should focus more on public transportation
@9992WLL2yrs2Y
Definitely in areas where EV's are in use, but not excessively where they won't be used in rural areas. Don't build evenly all around, fill demand with supply.
@9BT8LJL2yrs2Y
Increase tax incentives for businesses to do this on their own. Government spending needs to decrease.
@9CLXBXZ2yrs2Y
Yes, and require identical charging ports so all makes and models of electric vehicles can be charged at any station.
@9C9J2PN2yrs2Y
No, allow private companies to do it instead, without a public subsidy
@9BGTZZX2yrs2Y
Electric vehicles are still very young, they are not a permanent solution. Until they become a permanent solution I think it should be up to the private companies to build charging stations.
@9B9WG7D2yrs2Y
No, if it is viable the market will make it happen. If not, government won't help
@88N93RM2yrs2Y
No, they should put money into improving the power grid instead.
@99HRBQS2yrs2Y
Increase public transportation funding instead
@999QYGM2yrs2Y
No, leave this to the private sector to identify and meet demand.
@98YFGRZ2yrs2Y
once we start relying on electricety
@98RS2NC2yrs2Y
No, but they could provide tax incentives.
@B2FQ7GV4mos4MO
no because all cars damage the environment we need to be more focused on sufficient eco friendly public transportation
@9R8FKZL10mos10MO
I don't think that we should because the electricity has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is most likely fossil fuels. This means that electric cars as they now stand are no better for the environment and are less reliable. I do however not wish ill on those who drive electric vehicles and think that having more stations would help so they don't get stranded in the middle of nowhere.
