Yes because I think the government should be more concerned with serving the citizens of it's own country rather than ignoring them and only focusing on citizens of other countries. The U.S. government is in a position where it should find a balance between serving it's people while simultaneously keeping friendly relations with other countries. I think the U.S. government has done a poor job at doing this.
@thecanlisher 2yrs2Y
No, but address private companies to increase on public transportation investments
@8G8WH2N5yrs5Y
Yes, and provide more free public transportation and the spending goes towards environmentally friendly solutions
@8P9HGKD5yrs5Y
Yes, but it should be the responsibility of the local government instead of the national government, and it should only be if the spending goes towards environmentally friendly solutions
@9DGB99H2yrs2Y
Yes, but we should also invest in more public biking infrastructure to and from suburban and urban locales.
@93W98HY3yrs3Y

@B4CCVR92mos2MO
Yes government should dramatically increase spending in public transportation and improve its efficiency in finance managements
@9TL2SGL8mos8MO
Yes, if it can create efficiencies in public transportation and can help the economy by creating new jobs.
@9TD8VJ88mos8MO
The infrastructure needs to be fixed and this question cannot be answered until the right infrastructure is in place.
@9SBPY759mos9MO
No, federal government should reduce the amount of spending, and we should incentivize the states to spend more.
@9RVNCH7 10mos10MO
No, spending should be redistributed to improve the current quality to expand the quality and services
@9RGR8LZ10mos10MO
The state and local government should increase spending on public transportation whilst having free and environmental-friendly solutions.
@9QPHCJWIndependent11mos11MO
I think we should give more money to public transportation to included electric vehicles to allow less amounts of fuel to be used and hopefully decrease the amount it costs to use public transportation for citizens.
@9MZ5S9M12mos12MO
Yes, it should nationalize all public transit and work to abolish the use of cars except in rural areas
@9KZQ58B1yr1Y
I don't personally use public transportation often. However, I believe that there could be improvements that would motivate people to use public transportation more often.
@9KMPLWNIndependent1yr1Y
Yes, and congress should learn how to enforce existion legislation in this are instead of constantly fundraising
@9JFZZVT1yr1Y
I would want clarity around what other initiatives would be affected or would lose funding and would have to research the current state of things and what more funding could do.
@9J83WMTIndependent 1yr1Y
Yes but only after they thoroughly investigate how transportation has gotten this bad and fired anyone involved with it's current state of degradation.
@9HTGLZFLibertarian 1yr1Y
But there have to be assurances that we are going with good programs and not merely low bidders. We need quality and consistency in products, upkeep and the people responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment and roadways
@9H8M4YLConstitution1yr1Y
Yes, and there should be a public eye put to the maintenance of these buses and in terms of the promptness of the buses.
@9GFGWGF2yrs2Y
No, we should prioritize making infrastructure choices that reduce the use of public transportation.
@9FHVPV42yrs2Y
Yes - create a system designated to the needy/low-income on a designation-based system penalizing those misusing the pass.
@9FCRBZ72yrs2Y
Yes, we should provide more free public transportation and work to make this transportation environmentally friendly and green.
@9F92L6K2yrs2Y
Yes, but only where it makes sense in areas with higher population densities and focus on rail
@9DWWJ73Republican2yrs2Y
Overall, public transportation is relatively accessible (monetarily). However, it should be up to each individual state as to whether or not to increase spending based on minimum wage or mean income.
@9DMF78R2yrs2Y
Why would spending be increased if the places in which need most help are receiving the least amount of aid? Distribute current budget for public transportation accordingly as opposed to decreasing or increasing what’s spent.
@9DGPJGV2yrs2Y
Yes, and expand public transportation to make it more sustainable and efficient.
@thecanlisher 2yrs2Y
No, but address private companies to increase on public transportation investments.
@9DF48RV2yrs2Y
Make more but raise the cost astronomically so that the quality can be higher and it can be financially self sustainable
@9DB7YWQ2yrs2Y
It should be demonstrated that there isn't an unacceptable amount of wasteful spending first (and that should be required for *all* government spending).
@9D6WGMT2yrs2Y
Yes, but focus more on high power electric trains, they don’t ruin the landscape and provide a good mode of transport, I.e.- Japan
@93QHR3N3yrs3Y
Yes and should be more environmentally friendly and cheap or free.
@9C8SDZS2yrs2Y
@8G7BKW45yrs5Y
Yes, but it depends on the area you live in and how readily available transportation is in that area.
@9C7D7BN2yrs2Y
yes, and aim to improve the entirety of our road system with it
@9BLMYS82yrs2Y
states should vote on this
@9B9G5GM2yrs2Y
yes, in more urbanized regions of the country where it would be most useful such as the boston-washington corridor
@98TXY2W2yrs2Y
Only if those transportation services are out of date or if they are broken.
@96657YF3yrs3Y
I don’t have a opinion on this
@964599L3yrs3Y
No, make more efficient, cleaner and safer
@95ZN8963yrs3Y
Only increase spending if it is needed
@95HM6HW3yrs3Y
Yes, but only in areas where the need is clearly present
@95GC2SY3yrs3Y
No, because it wastes people money and if it's like a everyday thing to get in a bus or train a lot of money is wasted therefore I think the government should decrease spending on public transportation.
@95FZ2H63yrs3Y
This is a local level. Might need it in cities, but not suburbs
@94CRHSX3yrs3Y
Perhaps, slightly. However, as we've seen before, throwing money at things, doesn't always fix them.
@933K4DPRepublican3yrs3Y
If the government is to spend more on public transportation, we should focus on environmentally friendly solutions to reduce our energy usage and increase operational efficiency. I hope that we can also see an increase in privately-owned transportation services that can fill in the gaps in our publicly-operated network and provide competition for public services.
@93VYZYC3yrs3Y
This should be a decision made by the state, not the federal government.
@93HQ8WX3yrs3Y
Yes, an increase in spending should go towards newer vehicles and transportation systems. Also the restoration spending should increase as well.

@935KWFF3yrs3Y
Yes, we need to reduce car culture and dependency. Our government should fund nation wide free environmentally friendly, public transit
@92YPX3Y3yrs3Y
I believe that in cities yes however for many areas public transportation isn't a viable option so no matter the budget increase it wouldn't help the area.
@92R2TGV3yrs3Y
Yes, and increase frequency.
@92D6L863yrs3Y
@8ZXFN8K3yrs3Y
Slightly increase spending
@8ZL5PZWRepublican3yrs3Y
Only if it’s needed in that area and if it’s in budget
@8ZK2M5S3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if we increase spending for different types of public transportation.
@8Z9XTPS3yrs3Y
I think that we should spend more on public transportation, but there's also more important issues that need funding
@8Z9FHN33yrs3Y
Ys, at the state government level, not the federal government.
@8Z9DQGZ3yrs3Y
Yes, and providing free public transportation in large city and towns
@8Z4ZKV23yrs3Y

@8Z2DPJS3yrs3Y

public transportation should be free
@8YPKDLJ3yrs3Y
Yes, towards mostly free public transportation, and environmentally friendly solutions if possible.

@8YGJ23C3yrs3Y
Yes, fund $2,000,000,000,000 of infrastructure funding.
@8YBKZML3yrs3Y
Yes, but make it a public fundraiser with the government adding a certain percentage of the amount raised.
@8Y6W5843yrs3Y
No because transportation cost alot and i would only say increase it if america is doing something good with the money like solving world hunger or paying off there 100 year debts.
@8XZN24S3yrs3Y
Yes, and provide more zero-emission free public transportation that's reliable.
Yes, but only a little. Of all of the questions on this quiz, this is by far the one I care about the least.
@8XSS5463yrs3Y
Yes, But only in Cities with Large Populations to make it cost effective
@8XNPGGWIndependent3yrs3Y
I think that instead of allocating more funding to public transportations, we should focus on creating more walkable cities
@8XKQBJFLibertarian4yrs4Y
Only state and local governments should
@8XJ6ZD94yrs4Y
No, but we should give subsidies to private transportation services that provide more cheaper and safer transportation.

@8VNJBVK4yrs4Y
If we were to spend more money I would want it to be getting new tranportsation like a bullet train or something.
@8VLN9G54yrs4Y
They should raise it if it helps people (better cleaning / safer ) But they should lower it so more people can get public transportation if they don't have the money.
@8VKCDMC4yrs4Y
No we should privatize all infastructure
@8VFDYDY4yrs4Y
Yes, but only in metropolitan areas and to adjoin said areas
Yes but only for those who truly need it like the elderly or students and military
@8TYLW6B4yrs4Y
NO but that should be a PUBLIC REFERENDUM to be VOTED ON for CONSENT
@8T88DWR4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if the spending goes towards environmentally friendly solutions but not too much.
@8SSP2D24yrs4Y
It matters on how densely populated the area is, if it’s very dense and everything is within a distance, then yes
@8SRCWKK4yrs4Y
I would like to privatize public transportation with caring business that make it easy for low income people to get on a public transportation
The state should be responsible for their own not the federal government
