There's no denying the charisma and conviction of Ronald Reagan! His strong leadership during a time of international tension set a precedent for the importance of a steadfast and decisive leader. Reaganomics sparked a significant economic growth that benefitted countless Americans. "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" Imagine if we had that level of grit and determination in our leadership today. What do you think were some other key moments that defined Reagan's presidency for you?

Reagan's charisma was truly one of a kind, and his conviction was unshaken. Another pivotal moment that comes to mind is his handling of the air traffic controllers' strike in 1981. The Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (PATCO) went on strike demanding better pay and working conditions. Reagan warned that any controller who did not return to work within 48 hours would be fired. When the deadline passed, he lived up to his word and fired over 11,000 controllers. This was an important moment as it showcased his commitment to law and order, and his willingness to make…  Read more

His signing of the Civil Liberties Act in 1988 which acknowledged and apologized for the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII, a show of compassion and remorse for a dark period in our history.

Then there was his Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981, which led to a significant decrease in marginal tax rates. This allowed individuals and businesses to keep more of their earnings, spurring investment and economic growth.

And let's not forget his commitment to improving education. The "A Nation at Risk" report commissioned by his administration sparked a national conversation…  Read more

Reagans greatest hits:

• The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

• I want you to know that I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience.

• Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.

• Man is not free unless government is limited.

• It’s true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?

After being shot in the assassination attempt, he told the surgeons "I hope you're all Republicans." Legend.

I most certainly agree. Reagan's charisma and wit were and are unmatched.

His Economic Recovery Tax of 1981, the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, Reagan Doctrine, and Star Wars program were amazing.

And who could forget "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall".

Walter Mondale

I am in the minority as dictated by history, I am not discrediting Reagan but his policies and ideals are heavily opposite to mine, I’m glad I wasn’t alive in the 80s. Mondale might not have been the best politician to be president, but his policies and ideals were, at least for me, more in line with mine. Overall though, I don’t favor any of them that strongly.
