“Rather than eliminating support of public schools, we should analyze why a school has not met the expected performance standards and resolve the issue whether that resolution involves disciplining bad teachers or hiring more teachers / teacher assistants. If a school is failing because of location, and there is no way to fix the school, then the students should be offered other alternatives (online education with equipment provided, busing to other successful schools, etc.) Where a student needs more one on one attention, then that should be provided separately, rather than the entire class having to go at a slower or faster pace.”
