Can a society maintain cultural landmarks and historic sites without government support and if so, how?

 @9JD5WM9Socialist from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Public funding to support landmarks would remove the need of government support

 @9JH58WB from Missouri  disagreed…1yr1Y

Without government support cultural landmarks will be subject to the will of those with the most money, not the public interest.

 @9JD689T from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Absolutely. History lovers (such as myself) will gladly contribute voluntary donations to private historical societies to preserve our most important historical landmarks. The beauty of privatisation is that force and coercion are removed from the calculation – no one, who wants to spend his money on something else, is being forced through taxation to fund historical sites. It would dramatically expand American freedom, in addition to making these sites *even better* since free-market competition would encourage these organisations to keep their sites clean, trash-free, informative, and enjoyable.

 @9JD5XCPPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No they couldn't, if a world war 3 happens only the government power could control it

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you approach education differently if your school was run as a private entity without governmental curriculum?

 @9LFPJ3JRepublican from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

Teach more real world things like changing a tire.

 @9LHGJSP from Nevada  disagreed…1yr1Y

I think that schools should teach us tools to use in our everyday lives. Tax’s. Credit cards, how to finance a house. Use down payments.

 @9LFNYT2 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I would not trust the educational values of a private corporation.

 @9LGTXVT from Georgia  disagreed…1yr1Y

as long as we are getting the education we need to be successful skilled workers i don't mind it being from a private identity.

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

All education must be privatised, since taxation is theft, and an act of aggression against innocent people, and because the quality of government schools is horrible and their curriculum statist indoctrination glamorising socialist programs and telling us the horrible things that would surely happen if Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Dan Crenshaw, Joe Biden, and Mitch McConnell didn't rule our lives.

 @9LFPJX3  from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Students need to learn about true American and world history as well as be equipped with the tools to be educated on financial education.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How might decision-making processes in clubs or groups at school change if there was no principal or teacher involved?

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Privatising schools does *not* mean that principals and teachers will not be involved. There are thousands of private schools across the United States, nearly all of which have that structure. This is a loaded question that implies that private education would end that leadership structure which is *a lie.*

students would have more freedom to do what they think is affective. this would be a benefit as students know students and their campaigns and whatnot would have more publicity

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you feel about your personal information being handled solely by private companies without legal privacy frameworks?

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

I would feel much safer and freer, because in a Min-archist society, private companies would be accountable for violations of contract law, so they would obtain only that information I gave them permission to have, or *lawsuit*.

 @9K952JX from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I feel that it should be offered for me to give consent rather than having it just given away since it is my personal information

 @9K952F8 from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

 @9K968KRanswered…1yr1Y

I would rather my information not be handled by private companies or te governmen

How do you feel about the concept of private entities taking over roles like education and healthcare?

 @9HZCQ4ZRepublican from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

 @9HZCN5VDemocrat from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

I think that education and health care should be run by federal means in order to make sure no minorities are left out of these essential needs.

 @9J47XFHRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…1yr1Y

The founding fathers believed that this country would only succeed if the people were educated. But, they made no mention of health care. That is the personal responsibility of individuals.

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Both industries should be 100% privatised because taxation is theft and competition produces excellence.

 @9HZCXBKRepublican from South Dakota  answered…1yr1Y

Ok, as long as the private entities are not affiliated with the Democrats in amy way.

What would you do if a powerful corporation infringed on your personal rights in an anarcho-capitalist society?

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Bring it to court. (P.S. I am a min-archist – I support courts, police, and military as government's three legitimate services).

 @9HH7L8Hanswered…2yrs2Y

I would be against it because I don't trust this corporation and I don't know what they will do with my personal information.

 @9HH75CZ from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

I would feel violated and feel as if I couldn't trust anyone, it wouldn't be a fun world.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How might we hold each other accountable for actions that harm the community without laws?

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Boycotting offensive businesses and suing them if they genuinely encroach on your God-given rights. Even state-less societies still have laws, they're just enforced without government.

What local community problems do you think would be solved better without government intervention?

 @9HY8ZP7 from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

The United States is far too concerned with the "self" and privatization of everything under capitalism. I think capitalism has made every social interaction suspicious and has encouraged a general distrust of your neighbor because capitalism has made it very "us v.s them."

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  disagreed…1yr1Y

Too bad we don't live in the old U.S.S.R. – where everyone was happy and nothing bad ever happened.

 @9HY97Z8 from Idaho  answered…1yr1Y

there would be more power to the states so each state individually would be able to create their own laws and solve problems without government intervention like issues with socials and on smaller economic levels.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Without a state to enforce contracts, how could you ensure agreements are honored in business transactions?

 @9HP8Y3N from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Agreements are frequently broken. Judicial system is essential to allow for resolution in court.

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina  commented…1yr1Y

While I believe courts, military, and police should still exist (making me non-anarchist, but still minarchist) I must point out that even in Anarcho-Capitalist societies courts still exist; they're just private.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you describe the ideal balance between individual freedom and community responsibility?

 @9L8T277 from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

Individual freedom all the way with a choice of how one helps the community.

 @9L8SVGR from California  answered…1yr1Y

People should be allowed to live their lives the way they wish to, and without any community or individuals interfering in that. There are way too many people NOT minding their own business. if a person wishes to be sociable, great! But hey, no communes are required for people to live on each. The responsibility of all individuals are to obey the law and take care of their homes, both outside and inside. No such a hard thing to do. One thing I do NOT want to tolerate anymore is the all too close proximity of known sex offenders to communities with children and women. They should live where others like them live, like, on an island away from other people.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Would you support or resist a proposal for your neighborhood to manage its own waste disposal, and why?

 @9JD8GZJRepublican from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

I would resist that proposal because our waste disposal company does a fine job now.

 @9JD8F4G from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Oppose, this would cause people living in areas without neighbors or people who live outside of the city limit to find new ways to dispose of their trash along with forcing the people in neighborhoods to spend their own money to fund the removal and disposal of the trash.

 @9HP92NH from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…10mos10MO

How would you propose ensuring that education remains accessible to everyone if there were no public schools?

 @9THBNMMGreen from Wisconsin  answered…10mos10MO

I would improve the education system somehow so that people will want to participate, as I can't do it by force.

 @9TGBY7F from California  answered…10mos10MO

I think families should take it upon themselves to fund the school directly rather than pay for a portion of it in taxes.

 @9HXHWR5Republican from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Without government regulations, how do you think society would address issues like environmental protection?

 @GenX-gdi  from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I think you need some standard and baseline regulations. The EPA was created to deal with irresponsible practices from business and industry. The problem becomes, who regulates the regulators? Too many regulations squelches progress and too few creates health and environmental issues. No government agency should be too big and too powerful, especially at the federal level.
