Teachers and faculty are entitled to their beliefs. They should not be accused of being inherently racist. That is offensive in its own right. The training should be optional but not forced on faculty.

Teachers should treat all students equally, and no further training is needed. If dei training is mandated, there will be too many exceptions. There are too many kids/students who already identify themselves with something beyond what we normally consider, and it will be overwhelming for educators. Their primary job is to teach math/English/other subjects, and their secondady job is to help students socialization, not the other way around.

Additionally, giving special advantage to certain minority groups actually induce more discrimination (from my own experience as a foreigner). Just treat everyone equally, don't think about what they are or how they identify themselves.

Research shows schools with diversity training have fewer problems and better student success. And I think it would help teacher to understand students better.

I currently can't provide anything as my statement is more of a moral aspect rather than political one.

I've seen it happen in my school a lot of the time when a teacher would like to change the students perspective.

Forcing diversity is bad because you are hiring people who are worse at the job and firing people who are better, just because all the good people just so happened to be in one ethnic group. That doesn't make sense.

my context is that as a child I experienced prejudice not only from my peers but also by my teachers because of the actions of others, others being my teachers, my learning environment was hurt and my fellow classmates saw the teachers doing it they joined in as well and bullied me very badly and my teachers prejudice made them ignore my situation and in the end I was unable to learn to my full ability which made me suffer later in high school but by then I found a more stable and less prejudice learning environment because of the teachers being well trained to put a stop to bullying and other teachers actions that may harm or be inappropriate to other students or teachers.

You are taking a group of influential people and teaching them that the color of their skin matters more than their ability’s.

Diversity should be a natural thing not an enforced thing because that makes our differences even more ingrained.

A strong counter-argument to the affirmative position on mandatory teacher and faculty diversity training highlights potential negative impacts and questions the effectiveness of such training. It argues that such training can be divisive, ineffective, and even counterproductive, potentially creating resistance and reinforcing existing biases instead of promoting genuine inclusion.
Elaboration:
Divisiveness and Resistance:
Some argue that diversity training, especially when mandated, can create a sense of exclusion among certain groups, particularly those who feel targeted or unfairly blamed…  Read more

Diversity training has nothing to do with schools and students and teachers shouldn't be pushing there political agendas on students.

I think that there needs to be training because America is a melting pot of ideas and cultures. Thus meaning we need to educate ourselves on the great diversity in our country.

 @BCSQS7K from Minnesota  agreed…1mo1MO

Giving this training will completely change how teachers teach for the better and will limit microaggressions as well as racist remarks that could be accidental or purposeful.

 @BC36HK5 from Kentucky  agreed…2mos2MO

yes schools should be aloud to require diversity training because there is no reason anyone should be decrimatid because of race, or sex and more

 @9SMYQTY from Missouri  agreed…2yrs2Y

I think that there is no good reason for it not to even be considered. I would need to hear their response and why they think that flatly saying no is the best option.

How you can you guide and shape all young minds, if you don't understand, respect, and protect them all.

 @9FMJMB9Republican from Missouri  disagreed…3yrs3Y

If your trained in diversity is just showing kids that there being treated differently because of gender and race.

 @9FPMD5H from Texas  disagreed…3yrs3Y

I think that diversity training is unnecessary for many teachers as they already have to go through professional development and other required training which would make it unfair to add another one to their already heavy workload. Plus most teachers are already aware enough about diversity they don't need training.

A study published in the National Bureau of Economic Research found that students who have teachers of the same race/ethnicity tend to perform better academically. For example, Black students with Black teachers had higher test scores and lower suspension rates.
The National Center for Education Statistics reports that achievement gaps, particularly among racial and ethnic groups, persist in the U.S. education system. Diversity training can play a crucial role in narrowing these gaps by helping educators address bias and implement more equitable teaching practices.

Statistics show that students and teacher of the same race connect better and create a better enviorment for thoose around them.

 @9L3DWG3 from Georgia  agreed…2yrs2Y

This should be a requirement because there are many students with disabilities, mental health issues, personality disorders, and physical differences. Teachers and faculty need to be train on how to deal with these kinds of student so they can handle the situation and student in the best way possible.
