Does the concentration of power in the hands of a few ever benefit the majority?

 @9H84VDL from Nebraska  answered…2yrs2Y

I think so. It is hard for people to make decisions on their own, especially if they are not informed in those topics. Having knowledgeable representatives keeps our democracy from failing.

 @9H7TWM7 from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

No, it always allows for one person to do whats best for them which is usually not best for everyone else.

  @top_mastiffRepublican from Connecticut  disagreed…11mos11MO

It's really hard for people to make decisions by logic and fact, and it would be better if society could just rely on one person who can make all the decisions for us.

 @9H6SBN5  from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Often, a majority is benefited by the people in power, but the majority is oppressed much harder.

If you could create rules for a perfect society, what would be the first rule you’d make, and why?

 @9JLRGR4 from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

I would make a rule that says no drinking over age 21 and if you do you go to jail, also for tobacco and stuff because most kids at my school have drinking problems and i worried about them, its middle school for gods sake.

 @9JLYZV8 from Alabama  disagreed…1yr1Y

If your kids are drinking in middle school then it is the parents fault and not the governments fault.

 @9JLXTJBLibertarian from South Carolina  disagreed…1yr1Y

Substances like tobacco and alcohol are dangerous to children, but if a child is caught with them they do not deserve jail time. As for the age, as long as 18 years old is old enough to join the military, it is also old enough to drink and smoke.

  @top_mastiffRepublican  from Connecticut  answered…11mos11MO

Most likely a rule against anyone possessing drugs like weed and coke. It's very harmful to society and people need to get harsh punishments for their actions, such as a lot of jail time which includes labor.

 @9JLRP8Z from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

people should be punished for treating immigrants with violence. also that there should be more equality in the workplace no matter your race, gender, and age they should all get paid the same if they are doing the same thing. another is that we should stop destroying land and keep it as it is and slow down on building new things.

 @9JLRZMTGreen from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

The Federal Minimum Wage should be increased every year, not only to match the increase of inflation but in order to have more than enough readily available income per citizen, and in order to have a TRULY LIVEABLE WAGE.

 @9JB274B from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

If i couldn't choose my job i would feel useless and more like to tool for the government rather than a person.

 @9JGZXDT from New Jersey  agreed…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think that strict rules imposed by a leader can lead to a more organized society, and why?

 @9RTKD7L from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

In general, no. Strict rules do not allow for difference in opinion and discussion. Although the goals should be the same, how we get there is just as important as getting there itself. If someone enacts authority in order to force people to follow rules, that's what leads to riots. There do need to be rules, else human nature will be to savagely assail anything that doesn't conform to their standards, but not at the cost of individualism.

 @9RTKW22from Virgin Islands  answered…11mos11MO

 @9HJN33L from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

yes if their is someone making us follow the rules by holding us accountable then society will know you not playing

 @9HJM9CT from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes i feel like they can lead to a more organized society. If there are sticter rules, then society will have to follow them or else get punishment for it.

Would you feel comfortable living in a country where your government decides who you can and cannot marry?

 @9HZBCD2 from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would not feel comfortable living in a country where my government decides who I can and cannot marry.

 @9HZCZ6F from Ohio  disagreed…1yr1Y

Deciding who one can marry based on state could lead to racial motives, gender based motives, etc etc.

 @9HZBKRX from California  answered…1yr1Y

No, marriage should not be a forced decision and there would be no love around marriage if your spouse was chosen.

 @9HZBYPT from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

I would hate it, that is sick. All people of all genders should marry whoever they want.

 @9HZL9T2Progressive from Colorado  agreed…1yr1Y

If someone has to go home to someone they hate daily, that will affect their work ethic, mood, interactions with others, and health. All of these will most likely be for the worse, and won't help either person.

 @9HZBX5D  from California  answered…1yr1Y

No I would like to find love myself, if I found someone I rlly wanted to marry than yes but I wouldn't want to be told who I can and can not have my future with.

How much of your personal history and culture is tied to the freedom of expression?

 @9JRWMGH from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Everyone who lives in this country should have freedom of expression as long as it doesn't jeopardize or harm the government.

 @9JRR6QDRepublican  from California  answered…1yr1Y

I learned about freedom of expression through Christianity since I had hated Jesus for many years, but the fact that neither my church nor God Himself decided to shut me up, despite my piercing and hurtful words toward them, I learned that the freedom of expression is the only true way to change a man's choice of expression.

 @9JRN2D3  from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

All of it is tied to the freedom of expression but moving foward is more important

Can a leader who never faces elections or public criticism truly understand the needs of the people?

 @9HZFSH6 from Oklahoma  answered…1yr1Y

No, as the "supreme representative of the people" it's important that the president is in touch with the entire nation. If you can't critique your own leader and their policies, that can become a dangerous state of mind, a great example being radical supporters of former President Trump.

 @9J24FP5Democrat from Illinois  agreed…1yr1Y

I believe that constructive criticism is vital to becoming better at whatever you do, especially when you are effecting the people who are giving you the constructive criticism.

 @9J23V7ZWomen’s Equality from South Carolina  agreed…1yr1Y

If a political leader does not face the public for critical feedback or the things that the people want, how can one be better? A leader should know when to step up and when to comment.

 @9HZZZQ2 from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

No, if a leader wants to understand what his or her people really need, he or she needs to let them speak their voice.

 @9HZCJBFProgressive from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Absolutely not. A leader appointed without an election from the people is an invalid ruler and should be removed from office, to be replaced by a true elected leader.

Have you ever had a situation where strict discipline or control led to a better outcome?

 @9HYQWPY from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, I believe that in certain situations, strict discipline or control leads to a better outcome. For example the Military. The whole reason our military is so strong is because of the strong discipline and expectations that are set for our soldiers.

 @9HYQPVN from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, I have played Piano since I was young and my teacher was quite strict and made sure that I practiced often and effectively. If my teacher hadn't been strict I don't think my piano skills would be nearly as high as they are today.
