who the actual hell do you think you are meddling into regular peoples life, if they want to smoke that za i say that let them.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…3wks3W

Not if they smoke it in public and force everyone else to smell their pot

 @9GD86YX from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Marijuana actually helps a lot of people, and there are so many other things that we need to be worried about, not filling up our prisons with minor drug offenses.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  commented…3wks3W

No, the extremely violent ones need to be put on death row to make more room for drug offenders in our prisons.

 @9G396WM from New Hampshire  disagreed…2yrs2Y

In support of bodily autonomy and due to the fact that marijuana is a less harmful substance than alcohol, and actually proven to decrease symptoms of physical (Parkinson's) and mental (anxiety) conditions, it should be federally legalized.

 @9FG9J8RLibertarian from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Many over-the-counter medications can be classified as "non-violent drugs" so why ban only Marijuana

  @Renaldo-MoonGreen  from Pennsylvania  agreed…8mos8MO

Many legal prescription drugs are far more dangerous and addictive than Marijuana. (looking at you opioids)

 @9GWK6BN from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

US prisons are flooded with non-violent offenders. The war on drugs is a war on people; prison and felony records turn people into criminals with no other recourse.

 @Dry550Independent  from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Drugs aren’t a bad thing, “the war on drugs” has long since died out, it was started based on misinformation, marijuana is and should be considered an alternative to medicine. People gave new age healing a chance, give marijuana a chance. It’s for the betterment of mankind.

 @9G2BLY5 from Kentucky  disagreed…2yrs2Y

marijuana is a safe substance. it, increases appetite, helps with chronic illnesses, and releases seratonin

 @9FXBY6Nfrom Maine  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If penalties are increased on non violent offenders particularly penalties that lead to longer prison sentences then non violent criminals could become violent and be more likely to commit crime
Also increasing penalties could make it harder for non violent offenders to get a job which means More unemployed citizens because of increasing penalties on a drug that should be regulated not illegal

 @9FZCD88 from Arizona  disagreed…2yrs2Y

As a person living with a medical problem, medical marijuana has allowed me to manage my pain without the use of narcotics. Providing treatment for drug addiction has been shown to prevent addiction related deaths and crime.

  @Renaldo-MoonGreen  from Pennsylvania  agreed…8mos8MO

Narcotics are legal and encouraged while Marijuana is the opposite in most states. Yet Narcotics are extremely addictive and dangerous while Marijuana is not. Why are we encouraging the use of more dangerous drugs when safer options exist.

 @9FLXWW5 from Arizona  disagreed…2yrs2Y

its not affecting anyone if you smoke or not. penalties for maryjane should not be increased either cause its recreational its not a hard drug people shouldnt be jailed for it unless they plan to distribute in which they could be fines but not jailed

 @9FLYBGPdisagreed…2yrs2Y

There are more harmful drugs than marijuana. Marijuana should be legal. Alcohol has a worse effect on people than marijuana. Violence happens more with alcohol than marijuana. Alcohol should be illegal and marijuana should be legal.

 @9FLNHZH from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The strongest argument for Congress to end federal marijuana prohibition finds its roots in the far reaching harms and disparities

 @9FLN8J5 from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Three popular arguments in favor of legalizing adult cannabis use are: that its adverse health effects are modest compared with those of other licit and illicit drugs; that criminal penalties for cannabis use harm users and the community; and that legalization enables cannabis to be better regulated and taxed.

 @9FLZ6T7Republican from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

why, marijuana is shown to already be a way to cure many problems when used medically whats the pain in letting people use it without needing a doctors not

 @9FJ5DHXPeace and Freedom from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

my brain is breaking reading that, but i guess i think legizallie it? im not sure i dont under all of that

 @9F9K54NRepublican from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I don’t think non violent offenders should be punished harder than violent offenders. It should be a case by case basis depending on the situation in that persons life.

 @9F8NJRZ from Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is a plant , unless you are too high while driving or creating a issue in our word , I dont see a problem with marijuana

 @9F6ZX88 from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Marijuana use does not cause violence if anything lowers violence and these laws are more targeted towards low income areas

 @9FBWB7R from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

marijuna never killed anyone , unlike other hard drugs like fetynol or meth which are real hard and bad drugs unlike marijuana .

 @9F7V9N4 from Missouri  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Marijuana keeps some peoples lives together, it has plenty health benefits and is more on the side of a "harmless" drug.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  agreed…3wks3W

I live in Maryland and for some stupid, retarded reason people are allowed to smoke it, even in neighborhoods. Marijauna is stinky as heck, people who use marijuana in public are inconsiderate a**holes who need to be locked away from society until they learn to not force others to have to suffer from their actions of smoking pot.

 @9G83HX7 from Pennsylvania  agreed…2yrs2Y

Marijuana clouds your judgement and causes harm to the brain. If there are increased penalties people are more likely to not use it.

 @Dry550Independent from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Not only is increasing penalties for NON-VIOLENT drug offenses ludicrous, but it shows the offenders and the American people that we are anti-drugs. If we take that stance, we might as well get rid of all the other drugs doctors use to save lives. We need to show the country that we understand people sometimes need treatment and help, they don’t deserve judgment for something that might be out of their control.

 @8ZDD6QRLibertarian from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Marijuana users are not a high risk to society. Enforcement has been used as a tool to oppress specific people groups in the past.
