Wade in 1973, which ruled that state laws banning abortion were unconstitutional, effectively legalizing the procedure across the country. This decision was a major victory for Pro-Choice advocates, but it also sparked a backlash from those opposed to abortion, leading to ongoing political and cultural battles over the issue.

    In other parts of the world, the fight for reproductive rights has followed different paths. For example, in some European countries, abortion has been legal and widely accepted for decades. In contrast, in many developing countries and regions with strong religious traditions, abortion remains heavily restricted or outright banned.

    Despite these differences, the Pro-Choice movement globally is united by the belief in reproductive autonomy. Pro-Choice advocates argue that access to safe and legal abortion is a fundamental human right, and they work to protect and expand this right through legal action, political advocacy, and public education.
