Should Louisiana require every public school classroom to display the Ten Commandments?
In 2024, Louisiana became the first state since 1980 to mandate that a poster-sized display of the Ten Commandments be placed in every public classroom, from kindergarten through university. Governor Jeff Landry signed HB 71 into law, reigniting a massive national debate over the separation of church and state. Proponents argue that the Commandments are a historical document that served as the basis for Western law and American governance. Opponents argue this is an unconstitutional government endorsement of religion that alienates non-Christian students and distracts from Louisiana’s educational struggles.

In my personal opinion I believe that every classroom should have a copy of the Ten Commandments on the wall in scripture should be in school but that's only up to each and every single educator in the entire state of Louisiana in the country if you want to put a copy of the Ten Commandments in your classroom you can and if you want to teach scripture of some sort in your classroom then you should be allowed to it should all be focused on more of personal choice religion isn't supposed to be forced upon religion is a choice such as displaying the Ten Commandments in your classroom you don't have to necessarily but it would be good if you did
