Pete Hegseth has nowhere near enough experience to be competent at his job, compared to previous Secretaries of Defense. The casual and irreverent attitude towards death and destruction is absolutely disgusting and is unacceptable for someone in his position. It is equally unacceptable that he attempts to bring a crusade-like evangelical dogma to the military, pushing them to be loyal to the Christian God and donald trump (he doesn't deserve the respect of me capitalizing his name) rather than the Constitution of the United States of America.

Lethal bombing on small civilian Venezuelan boats and justifying it as preventing drug smuggling and terrorism is a bit of a stretch, is there any proper evidence to back up the claims before such boats are targeted? Innocent civilians may be in these boats, there should be better ways to prevent smuggling and terrorism instead of resorting to lethal bombing.

Peter Brian Hegseth is an alcoholic, rapist, warmongering, religious imbecile. He created a SIGNAL CHAT that was being used to conduct highly classified military operations planning, that Mike Waltz invited Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor-in-Chief of the Atlantic into. He insulted the military he's nominally in charge of. He ordered war crimes on Venezuelan fishing boats. He's promoting a Postmillennial Christian Dominionist Crusade. He exhibits every trait in The Psychology of Military Incompetence by Norman Dixon. He was the second time the VP's had to confirm a cabinet member, second time it was a Trump cabinet member too.

First off, the dilemma where he sent classified information to a literal reporter by accident over a non-secure messaging service was really concerning and embarrassing. Further the ignorant decisions including changing the name to Department of War otherwise encouraging conflict instead of peace felt immature and misrepresentative. Lastly, he's not qualified at all. In terms of how poorly of a job he's really done I'm not on the inside so I cannot speak on that.

Security risks
He reportedly used an unapproved messaging app to share sensitive military information.
Mistakes like this can endanger U.S. personnel and compromise operations.
2. Internal instability and morale issues
Sweeping personnel changes and restructuring have caused confusion, stress, and low morale among staff.
This can make the military less effective and coordinated.
3. Ongoing structural problems
Longstanding issues with outdated systems, bureaucracy, and accountability remain unresolved.
Critics may see this as a failure to address the big challenges facing the Department.

The shooting down of Venezuelan fishing boats is abhorrent. The new policy regarding facial hair in the military is blatantly racist. There is too much to list but Hegseth has been horrible. He also has some pretty racist tattoos. And the removing of swastikas as hate symbols in the military is terrible.
