“This is a difficult one. I believe in fair pay regardless of gender/race etc. But, I also, more importantly, believe in pay based on performance. If statistically speaking x work group performs said job/task better, they deserve better pay. I think it is too hard of a task to vet out all the variables to direct a specific number for all individuals. That being said, I like the idea of a salary range for each position, if you don't want to pay someone within that salary range for the job (and you are willing to pay others this) they probably aren't good enough to do it and you shouldn't hire them in the first place. So, my answer depends on what you mean by "equal". Yes if you mean within an acceptable range for the given job (the range being a lot closer than 75%/100% that exists today); but no if you mean that a company has to pay every employee the same regardless of competency.”
