Imagine someone’s brain was removed and they were hooked up to a set of machines that kept them biologically alive. Is that a person deserving of rights? In other words, would unplugging the machines be considered murder? What if, instead of a set of machines, the subjects was hooked up to another, unambiguously alive person? What if that person could be harmed? Would that person have the right to end the procedure?
