Q&A with Tony Fitzpatrick, candidate for Governor of California in 2026
How would your rail plan be different that the plan CA has already tried?
My plan would also result in an affordable (eventually free) method of transportation that is incredibly fast. Many other plans I've heard of don't include the consumer cost, but mine will. In fact, I will work to make my plan not only the largest but also the most comprehensive and affordable plan for such a system.
By keeping ticket fares low, we can get more people to start using the system instead of using traditional trains, cars, or planes to travel across the state. I would also work to ensure that delays do not become an issue as they are with normal trains and with air travel.
My end goal, within two terms, is to boost our economy, fix the housing market, end the homelessness and poverty crises, and have a grand majority of this plan constructed and operating normally.
It is a lot of large goals, and it won't be very easy, but I pledge to get as much done as possible. Even if it means working all day and all night for the people of California because they deserve true commitment rather than career politicians who take bribes and do nothing.
