Immigrants are valuable and work hard at jobs most of us don't want to do. Be fair to them! They are just looking to support their family!

 @9FTD6D9 from Georgia agreed…7mos7MO

I think it is true that they are valuable. However, I feel like this comment is a little undermining. Of course we should be fair to them; immigrants are not an outgroup, they are humans, like all of us are. It would be a little stereotypical to categorize ALL immigrants as doing lower-level jobs. However, it is true that many of them work many blue-collar jobs to get along life.

 @9FX3NJP from Massachusetts agreed…7mos7MO

I agree because they came to america for a better life, but they could be taking our potential jobs as a US citizen.

 @9FWL8QH from California agreed…7mos7MO

i think an immigrant should be able to move up the social ladder and do whatever job they would like.

 @9F982MZ from Illinois disagreed…8mos8MO

The current presidency is allowing criminals and mentally insane citizens to infiltrate our country. All who enter the US should come here legally, learn English, and pass a US citizenship test. They should NOT have free handouts either.

 @Fr33SpeechGenesisDemocrat from New Jersey disagreed…8mos8MO

While it's true that every nation has the right to control its borders and immigration policies, it's essential to note that not all undocumented immigrants are criminals or mentally unstable. In fact, studies show that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born citizens. As for learning English and passing a US citizenship test, many immigrants are more than willing to do so, but the current immigration system makes it exceptionally difficult and time-consuming.

Regarding free handouts, it's a common misconception that immigrants have access to a wide range…  Read more

This country has been built by mostly immigrants and theyre should be no reason to keep people in cages or want to kill them only because theyre trying to live a better life.

 @9F7ZBHZ from North Carolina disagreed…8mos8MO

Regardless of who you are you should be able to have citizenship in the United States. It is supposed to be a safe haven for people to have freedom, and especially innocent children, deserve the same rights that everyone else has.

 @9F73WV2 from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

America is filled with different cultures and to not allow people to live in the most free country is to defy the idea of this being the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

 @9F7PN2KLibertarian from Missouri disagreed…8mos8MO

Because children of illegal immigrants cannot choose who they are or where they were born, they should be granted legal citizenship if the plan is for them to remain there. It doesn't matter who their parents are or why they are there, they should be treated like anyone else.

 @9F7S7DS from South Carolina disagreed…8mos8MO

Immigrants (legal and illegal) are the foundation of this country. Even the founding of this country could not occur without help from immigrants and refugees. In the early days of this country, immigrant labor built the railroads and boom towns. Now immigrants make up the working class. Supporting the rich who think life would be better without them. Without immigration, this country collapses.

 @9F7P8P7Democrat from South Carolina disagreed…8mos8MO

Most Immigrant coming from different countries are only coming to make a better life for themselves and family, also the incoming immigrants help the economy.

 @9F7YSZ6 from California disagreed…8mos8MO

It should be much easier to become a citizen in America. The only reason there are so many illegal immigrants is because of the difficulty to apply for citizenship.

 @9F834B6Peace and Freedom from Wisconsin disagreed…8mos8MO

Covered by the 14th amendment, It says that anyone born in America (from immigrants) are indeed American citizens.

 @9F7TFYL from Nebraska disagreed…8mos8MO

People wanting to come to this country are usually very grateful and I think letting people in can mostly help the country for the better.

 @9F74C9J from California disagreed…8mos8MO

Their parents came to America to give them better opportunities than in the countries they came from. The children and their parents did not ask to be born in a country where their dreams could not be realized, and America was founded on the idea of equality and opportunity.

 @9F85PCW from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

I think children of illegal immigrants should be granted legal citizenship because they deserve a chance to have the same opportunities as someone that was born in the US.

 @9F7FBK6from Guam disagreed…8mos8MO

It does not sound absurd but immigrants should be accepted and given every rights as an American citizen does because they are not safe in their own country but that the right thing to do

 @9F83WQPDemocrat from California disagreed…8mos8MO

Children should definitely be granted legal citizenship if their parents are illegal immigrants because they have absolutely no say in immigrating into the U.S. They are dragged along by the choice of their parents and are forced to live by the decisions of their parents. It is unfair to punish children with no citizenship when it wasn’t by their choice whatsoever.

 @9F7233Y from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

If a child was born in the U.S., they are automatically a citizen, even if their parents are immigrants.

 @9F7RVH6 from Indiana disagreed…8mos8MO

We value ourselves as a place where everyone comes to find happiness, and yet we want to make it extremly difficult for anyone to do this?

 @9F76PJH from Nebraska disagreed…8mos8MO

We are all immigrants. Often people coming into the country are victims of United States intervention, or are coming in to flee poverty. Everybody is human and nobody should be banned from coming into America.

 @9F87PXC from Washington disagreed…8mos8MO

Immigrants are just normal humans. they shouldn't be punished unless they have done super bad things.

 @9F7SY8T from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

But it says that anyone that is born in the U.S is automatically a citizen and, the parents over time can earn theirs as well. (going off the laws that’s already in place)

 @9F7QBLC from Arkansas disagreed…8mos8MO

Children of illegal immigrants should become legal citizens because under the constitution it states that if a child is born in the united states it is naturalized and that child becomes a citizen even if his or her mother/father are illegal immigrants.

 @9F6XB2Q from Illinois disagreed…8mos8MO

I believe we're all looking for a place where we can safely pursue happiness and no one should be denied that opportunity.

 @9F85ZPQ from Washington disagreed…8mos8MO

There is no evidence to suggest immigration is bad for our country and in fact it has only helped us. It does not lower wages, it does not take jobs. from our economy to our culture immigrants have built this country.

 @9F6YLJG from Illinois disagreed…8mos8MO

Immigrants are simply coming to America to find better jobs for themselves so they can provide more for their families and have a better life style.

 @9F7D2PC from New York disagreed…8mos8MO

Not offering a child of illegal immigrants legal citizenship is holding back benefits that comes with such legal status for a) an action (immigrating illegally into this country) that they had little to no say in is unjust and b) unfair to someone who is genuinely no different from children of U.S. citizens.

 @9F6ZQ9D from Michigan disagreed…8mos8MO

i think everyone deserves a chance depending on their background, what if they were a family just trying to get away from abuse, they should be aloud to stay.

 @9F84DDD from Oregon disagreed…8mos8MO

They were born here and it says (in some important document from a long time ago) that anybody born on this land is a citizen, so yes they should be citizens.

 @9F7RR3G from Michigan disagreed…8mos8MO

the more people who come to live in the US the more ideologies and ideas are shared and the further our advancements get made

 @9F6VBM6Peace and Freedom from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

they should have somewhat of a say I mean they want what everyone else wants which is an equal oppurtunity to live a good life

 @9F6Q9R2 from Nebraska disagreed…8mos8MO

We’re a nation of immigrants living on lane we stole; historically, we’ve taken everyone who wants to come here. Unless they’re outright criminals who want to kill people we have no reason to say they can’t come here.

 @9F6QCP7disagreed…8mos8MO

The children of those people did nothing wrong and were born on U.S soil. They should not be punished for their parents actions, you cannot punish someone for what they're parents did. They have no control over their parent's choices. They were in the United States so they would be a U.S Citizen.

 @9F7J9YHIndependent from California disagreed…8mos8MO

Well the immigrants just want a better life so I feel if they have no criminal record they should be allowed to stay.

 @9F7ZSXG from Alabama disagreed…8mos8MO

That it is good the immigration path should be made easier but if someone wants to be an American citizen i don’t see they can’t be.

 @9F7VTXBDemocrat from Washington disagreed…8mos8MO

immigration is essential to expose the US to different cultures and talents, different way of thinking etc

 @9F6PV5N from Pennsylvania disagreed…8mos8MO

children of immigrants did not choose to live in the united states, they were born here and do deserve a chance to become a citizen

I think people who want the opportunity to live in the US should be given one, especially people who come from dangerous situations and are escaping should be

 @olivia.kingg from Massachusetts disagreed…8mos8MO

The 14th amendment states that all persons born in the United States are natural born citizens, regardless of their parents’ citizenship statuses. Therefore if a child of an illegal immigrant is born in the US, that child is a natural-born citizen.

 @9F67X5K from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

Immigrants usually work in manual and/or unskilled labor which are positions with a lot of demand and need. It would boost the economy and increase diversity.

 @9F6SBP9 from Texas disagreed…8mos8MO

If they are born on United States land, then they are a United States citizen. That's how it was when there were settlers and that's how we all are United States citizens. If we continue to try and divided ourselves, then nothing can get done and everyone would hate one another.

 @9F6P9WY from Virginia disagreed…8mos8MO

Children that are born and raised in the United states are no different then the children of illegal immigrants so they should be able to be granted legal citzenship.

 @9F57DKGProgressive from Illinois disagreed…8mos8MO

They are no different in any meaningful way of children of US citizens. What matters are who these people are, their acts, their loyalties and interests. None of these are dictated by their parentage or where they were as a toddler.

Additionally, the construction dictates anyone born in the US is a US citizen in the 14th amendment, no matter their parents or circumstances.

 @Bureaucr4tBrettRepublicanfrom Georgia disagreed…8mos8MO

While it's true that the 14th Amendment grants citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil, this principle, known as birthright citizenship, has been subject to debate. Some argue it's an outdated concept, originally intended to provide citizenship for freed slaves, not for children of non-citizens or illegal immigrants. They suggest it may encourage illegal immigration and birth tourism. For example, in 2019, there was a case where a Russian woman was charged for offering birth tourism packages to wealthy Russian women wanting to give birth in the U.S for their children to obtain citiz…  Read more

Kids deserve a chance at a better life. That's what coming to America has always been for many immigrants, all they want is an opportunity to grant their family a good life. Why should they be denied this and tell their children they are stuck living where they can't move forward financially? I think it's good to have a dream, so the answer should be "yes" to granting illegal immigrants legal citizenship.

 @9F7GQ57 from Illinois disagreed…8mos8MO

Immigrants are wanting and willing to come here, work themselves to death, and do the work the "real americans" don't want to do. They are willing to pay proper taxes, take care of what is theirs, and be humble and mind their own business and better the americans businesses because the "real americans" won't do it themselves.

 @9F76TW3 from Arizona disagreed…8mos8MO

Children are innocent and should be granted citizenship and equal freedoms in any land they choose to live.

 @9F8F6SQIndependent from New Hampshire disagreed…8mos8MO

We need more people to fill in the jobs, to keep company's/ businesses afloat, and keep the economy moving.
