Immigrants are valuable and work hard at jobs most of us don't want to do. Be fair to them! They are just looking to support their family!
@9FTD6D92yrs2Y
I think it is true that they are valuable. However, I feel like this comment is a little undermining. Of course we should be fair to them; immigrants are not an outgroup, they are humans, like all of us are. It would be a little stereotypical to categorize ALL immigrants as doing lower-level jobs. However, it is true that many of them work many blue-collar jobs to get along life.
@9F982MZ2yrs2Y
The current presidency is allowing criminals and mentally insane citizens to infiltrate our country. All who enter the US should come here legally, learn English, and pass a US citizenship test. They should NOT have free handouts either.
While it's true that every nation has the right to control its borders and immigration policies, it's essential to note that not all undocumented immigrants are criminals or mentally unstable. In fact, studies show that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born citizens. As for learning English and passing a US citizenship test, many immigrants are more than willing to do so, but the current immigration system makes it exceptionally difficult and time-consuming.
Regarding free handouts, it's a common misconception that immigrants have access to a wide range… Read more

Here is a excerpt from a presentation I did for my class, I started by pointing out that immigrants should not be able to come here illegally.
However, refugees should still be able immigrate to America with the following rules:
Refugees and their children get no help whatsoever from the government, they must make a living themselves, not using our tax money through government programs
If a refugee marries a citizen, the refugee will not gain citizenship, and any kids they have won’t automatically be citizens, but will have a chance for citizenship like any other immigrant
The bill of rights won’t apply to refugees, they cannot sue a citizen, and if they wrong a citizen, they are to be deported immediately
If an actual crime (like torture or robbery) was committed against the refugee, they can still get justice though
@HelcovichEmireRepublican 9mos9MO
Asylum seekers or refugees, if the conditions in their home countries are truly unlivable, such as if gang violence has taken over the area or their country is at war, they should still be able to come to the US, but with extreme limitations to their rights. So they can choose, do they want to come here where they basically have no rights and will receive no help from the government for themselves and any kids they have or will have, or do they want to stay and live with the conditions back home.
@9FTX7JY2yrs2Y
The immigrants that work jobs that are legal fill a gap that no one wants to fill. The government usually doesn't give visas out for the jobs that they usually work. We are very picky with our immigration laws, but as long as someone is working, I disagree with the take that they're taking away jobs. I believe they work jobs that no one wants to do. The only thing that would be a worry is if they had the visas, would they never have worked those jobs? Most restaurants in New York are ran by paying illegal immigrants to work in the kitchen. They definitely do significant work, it's morally wrong to continue this way.
@9FX3NJP2yrs2Y
I agree because they came to america for a better life, but they could be taking our potential jobs as a US citizen.
@9F73WV22yrs2Y
America is filled with different cultures and to not allow people to live in the most free country is to defy the idea of this being the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
@9F8WQWJ2yrs2Y
This country has been built by mostly immigrants and theyre should be no reason to keep people in cages or want to kill them only because theyre trying to live a better life.
@9F7ZBHZ2yrs2Y
Regardless of who you are you should be able to have citizenship in the United States. It is supposed to be a safe haven for people to have freedom, and especially innocent children, deserve the same rights that everyone else has.
@9F7PN2KLibertarian2yrs2Y
Because children of illegal immigrants cannot choose who they are or where they were born, they should be granted legal citizenship if the plan is for them to remain there. It doesn't matter who their parents are or why they are there, they should be treated like anyone else.
@9F7S7DS2yrs2Y
Immigrants (legal and illegal) are the foundation of this country. Even the founding of this country could not occur without help from immigrants and refugees. In the early days of this country, immigrant labor built the railroads and boom towns. Now immigrants make up the working class. Supporting the rich who think life would be better without them. Without immigration, this country collapses.
Most Immigrant coming from different countries are only coming to make a better life for themselves and family, also the incoming immigrants help the economy.
@9F7YSZ62yrs2Y
It should be much easier to become a citizen in America. The only reason there are so many illegal immigrants is because of the difficulty to apply for citizenship.
@9F7233Y2yrs2Y
If a child was born in the U.S., they are automatically a citizen, even if their parents are immigrants.
Covered by the 14th amendment, It says that anyone born in America (from immigrants) are indeed American citizens.
@9F7TFYL2yrs2Y
People wanting to come to this country are usually very grateful and I think letting people in can mostly help the country for the better.
@9F7RVH62yrs2Y
We value ourselves as a place where everyone comes to find happiness, and yet we want to make it extremly difficult for anyone to do this?
@B24BQK9Republican9mos9MO
Only those who work hard to deserve the happiness offered by our country, not everyone
@9F74C9J2yrs2Y
Their parents came to America to give them better opportunities than in the countries they came from. The children and their parents did not ask to be born in a country where their dreams could not be realized, and America was founded on the idea of equality and opportunity.
@9F85PCW2yrs2Y
I think children of illegal immigrants should be granted legal citizenship because they deserve a chance to have the same opportunities as someone that was born in the US.
@9F7FBK62yrs2Y
It does not sound absurd but immigrants should be accepted and given every rights as an American citizen does because they are not safe in their own country but that the right thing to do
Children should definitely be granted legal citizenship if their parents are illegal immigrants because they have absolutely no say in immigrating into the U.S. They are dragged along by the choice of their parents and are forced to live by the decisions of their parents. It is unfair to punish children with no citizenship when it wasn’t by their choice whatsoever.
@9F76PJH2yrs2Y
We are all immigrants. Often people coming into the country are victims of United States intervention, or are coming in to flee poverty. Everybody is human and nobody should be banned from coming into America.
@9F87PXC2yrs2Y
Immigrants are just normal humans. they shouldn't be punished unless they have done super bad things.
@9F7QBLC2yrs2Y
Children of illegal immigrants should become legal citizens because under the constitution it states that if a child is born in the united states it is naturalized and that child becomes a citizen even if his or her mother/father are illegal immigrants.
@9F7SY8T2yrs2Y
But it says that anyone that is born in the U.S is automatically a citizen and, the parents over time can earn theirs as well. (going off the laws that’s already in place)
@9F6XB2Q2yrs2Y
I believe we're all looking for a place where we can safely pursue happiness and no one should be denied that opportunity.
@9F85ZPQ2yrs2Y
There is no evidence to suggest immigration is bad for our country and in fact it has only helped us. It does not lower wages, it does not take jobs. from our economy to our culture immigrants have built this country.
@9F6YLJG2yrs2Y
Immigrants are simply coming to America to find better jobs for themselves so they can provide more for their families and have a better life style.
@9F6ZQ9D2yrs2Y
i think everyone deserves a chance depending on their background, what if they were a family just trying to get away from abuse, they should be aloud to stay.
@9F7D2PC2yrs2Y
Not offering a child of illegal immigrants legal citizenship is holding back benefits that comes with such legal status for a) an action (immigrating illegally into this country) that they had little to no say in is unjust and b) unfair to someone who is genuinely no different from children of U.S. citizens.
@9F84DDD2yrs2Y
They were born here and it says (in some important document from a long time ago) that anybody born on this land is a citizen, so yes they should be citizens.
@9F7RR3G2yrs2Y
the more people who come to live in the US the more ideologies and ideas are shared and the further our advancements get made
they should have somewhat of a say I mean they want what everyone else wants which is an equal oppurtunity to live a good life
@9F6Q9R22yrs2Y
We’re a nation of immigrants living on lane we stole; historically, we’ve taken everyone who wants to come here. Unless they’re outright criminals who want to kill people we have no reason to say they can’t come here.
@9F6QCP72yrs2Y
The children of those people did nothing wrong and were born on U.S soil. They should not be punished for their parents actions, you cannot punish someone for what they're parents did. They have no control over their parent's choices. They were in the United States so they would be a U.S Citizen.
@9F7J9YHIndependent2yrs2Y
Well the immigrants just want a better life so I feel if they have no criminal record they should be allowed to stay.
@9F7ZSXG2yrs2Y
That it is good the immigration path should be made easier but if someone wants to be an American citizen i don’t see they can’t be.
immigration is essential to expose the US to different cultures and talents, different way of thinking etc
@9F6PV5N2yrs2Y
children of immigrants did not choose to live in the united states, they were born here and do deserve a chance to become a citizen
@9F792YK2yrs2Y
I think people who want the opportunity to live in the US should be given one, especially people who come from dangerous situations and are escaping should be
@olivia.kingg2yrs2Y
The 14th amendment states that all persons born in the United States are natural born citizens, regardless of their parents’ citizenship statuses. Therefore if a child of an illegal immigrant is born in the US, that child is a natural-born citizen.
@9FM3BGHWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
Immigration will have the opportunity to have a better life in the U.S. but some may be criminals and we dont know exactly is coming in the U.S for good intentions or bad ones.
@9F67X5K2yrs2Y
Immigrants usually work in manual and/or unskilled labor which are positions with a lot of demand and need. It would boost the economy and increase diversity.
@9F6SBP92yrs2Y
If they are born on United States land, then they are a United States citizen. That's how it was when there were settlers and that's how we all are United States citizens. If we continue to try and divided ourselves, then nothing can get done and everyone would hate one another.
@9FR25Y82yrs2Y
We should control the new entries. But legalize the people that has been here already for decades without any resolution.
@9F6P9WY2yrs2Y
Children that are born and raised in the United states are no different then the children of illegal immigrants so they should be able to be granted legal citzenship.
@9F7H9MN2yrs2Y
Kids deserve a chance at a better life. That's what coming to America has always been for many immigrants, all they want is an opportunity to grant their family a good life. Why should they be denied this and tell their children they are stuck living where they can't move forward financially? I think it's good to have a dream, so the answer should be "yes" to granting illegal immigrants legal citizenship.
@9F7GQ572yrs2Y
Immigrants are wanting and willing to come here, work themselves to death, and do the work the "real americans" don't want to do. They are willing to pay proper taxes, take care of what is theirs, and be humble and mind their own business and better the americans businesses because the "real americans" won't do it themselves.
@9F76TW32yrs2Y
Children are innocent and should be granted citizenship and equal freedoms in any land they choose to live.
@9F8F6SQIndependent2yrs2Y
We need more people to fill in the jobs, to keep company's/ businesses afloat, and keep the economy moving.
@9FMGWRY2yrs2Y
I think they should help or allow some immigrants to this country because they move out of their home country for a reason.
@9FJ73H32yrs2Y
you are forcefully kicking out people with nowhere to go who are facing death in their own countries, that shows a lack of humanity
Immigrants work hard at jobs most of us don't want to do. Be fair to them. They are just looking to support their family.
@9FLXKQP2yrs2Y
Immigrants work just like any other person, they came here to seek a better life so they work hard to earn it. It not fair to be treated differently because you were born in a different place than everyone else
@9FLLKS92yrs2Y
Christopher Columbus was an immigrant and he is viewed as one of the first here on North America, the U.S is built on immigrants.
@9FNB64J2yrs2Y
Immigrants come for a better life and if seen that they have been a good individual in the United States they should be able to apply for citizenship.
@9F6D3922yrs2Y
why can't everyone just be given the opportunity to be treated like an American like what is the reason to treat them differently than one ? it makes no sense to me when we all have everything that makes us equal to each other , blood , skin , body , soul . we are simple atoms and we should have no room to hate or make people life difficult for no reason.
@9FLHTTF2yrs2Y
Immigrates do a lot for the country and without them we wouldn't be the nation that we are so we should give them help with healthcare.
@9FNZ3HT2yrs2Y
This country has been built mostly by immigrants and there should be no reason to keep people in cages or want to kill them just because they are trying to live a better life.
@9F88QKY2yrs2Y
The children are innocent of their parent’s action so should not be sent back based on their context of why the came to America like should be provided with healthcare as well.
@9FQ9PK92yrs2Y
Immigrants are hardworking and want the best for their own children to build the life they want for them.
@9F7WBLC2yrs2Y
Because of the thousands of immigrants breaching the border, it is creating havoc and is allowing people with no citizenship into the countries that take jobs of official U.S. citizens
@VulcanMan6 2yrs2Y
No immigrant has ever taken anyone's job; if anything, a greedy business-owner might fire you so that he can exploit an immigrant for less pay instead. Blame the business owners, not the immigrants.
While it's understandable to be concerned about job competition, it's important to note that immigrants, regardless of their legal status, often take jobs that are typically shunned by citizens. For instance, agriculture, construction, and service industries heavily rely on immigrant labor. Did you know that in California, almost 70% of farmworkers are undocumented?
Also, granting children of illegal immigrants citizenship could potentially benefit the economy. These children, when grown up, could contribute to the workforce and pay taxes. Moreover, they could bring fresh ideas, diversity, and cultural richness to society.
What do you think could be a potential solution to ensure job security for citizens while also considering the contributions of immigrants?
How the hell do you think we got here? climb up the ladder and kick it? Double standard. **** shouldnt be first come first serve its a piece of land.
@9FLJD38Women’s Equality2yrs2Y
Immigrants come to this country for a better quality of life compared to their home country. We should allow them and welcome them with open arms to our country. They are valuable to our workforce and have contributed to our way of life. This country will disintegrate if we don't allow immigrants to come.
@9FG72TR2yrs2Y
They have a right to be citizens of the U.S. if they are living in it along with their parents whether they are legal or illegal, but they deserve citizenship because their parents did not come all this way just for their kids to be stopped in certain aspects due to being illegal.
@9FFZMDPIndependent2yrs2Y
Immigrants are some of the most hard working people they work jobs most of us don't want to do. They're just looking to support their families.
@9FG8W9S2yrs2Y
Migrants are necessary in the country's economy. They are the ones who do the most difficult jobs and make the country advance more.
I don't think its necessary for the US to continue building a wall, many of these immigrants who try and cross everyday are people seeking help from violence abuse and threats. Many of these people are very hardworking and could benefit the country.
@9FLM3NL2yrs2Y
Most immigrants who come here are not criminals and hold jobs, contrary to popular belief. They don't just sap money from the country, but they improve the economy as they come. They don't take jobs away from Americans but rather create new jobs.
@9FLGVLF2yrs2Y
immigrants should be given an opportunity in this country, majority of them work hard and provide a good economic stance for the country.
@9FGFCVF2yrs2Y
Millions of families in the united states are immigrant families and wouldn't exist, including my family and therefore I wouldn't exist if my mom wasn't able to immigrate.
@9FLHLKRConstitution2yrs2Y
Children should have the ability to grow up and make a living here as the parents made sacrifices to make their way here in order for the child to live a better life.
@9FJ6HFZ2yrs2Y
Our country was build by immigrants, immigrants run our country, without immigrants many of our businesses would ot be able to expand.
A more significant population in the country means a greater workforce and financial gain for everyone. This means immigration towards a country would greatly benefit them.
@9F7VL6PLibertarian2yrs2Y
well , if the child was born in that country, then the child is automatically a citizen of that country.
@9F6QDXC2yrs2Y
I’m very confused but I am not against immigration because everyone wants to have a better life and provide for their families who are back home.
@9F57DKGProgressive2yrs2Y
They are no different in any meaningful way of children of US citizens. What matters are who these people are, their acts, their loyalties and interests. None of these are dictated by their parentage or where they were as a toddler.
Additionally, the construction dictates anyone born in the US is a US citizen in the 14th amendment, no matter their parents or circumstances.
While it's true that the 14th Amendment grants citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil, this principle, known as birthright citizenship, has been subject to debate. Some argue it's an outdated concept, originally intended to provide citizenship for freed slaves, not for children of non-citizens or illegal immigrants. They suggest it may encourage illegal immigration and birth tourism. For example, in 2019, there was a case where a Russian woman was charged for offering birth tourism packages to wealthy Russian women wanting to give birth in the U.S for their children to obtain citiz… Read more

the United States was built from immigrants but for people who illegally enter that's a no but people who come to the us and wanting to immigrant to the us should be aloud to come
@9F8FLJ82yrs2Y
Many people cannot get documents to get across the boarder safely. Many lose their jobs just from missing work to go to a embassy.
@9F74SJQRepublican2yrs2Y
I think there should be a limit because then it will be an invasion, and those countries should help their people instead of another country doing it.
@9F5FRWC2yrs2Y
Increasing the number of immigrants allows for more people to come in the US, diversifying the workforce and making our culture richer.
@9FG3QK9Women’s Equality2yrs2Y
people have a choice, I mean many people from other cities come to the U.S. to work and and a better future
@9FF6BGX2yrs2Y
Just like our ancestors are immigrants who i came to find a better life people are doing this now. As a country we stand for freedom and a chance of a better life.
@9FFLGB2Independent2yrs2Y
Immigrants contribute to our country in many ways including cultural diversity, economic advancements, and minds from all around the world.
@9FJ79QT2yrs2Y
i highly disagree to that statement, they could have had their own reasons to immigrate, for there families and homes.
@9FG2ZWG2yrs2Y
Immigrant that are benefit to the government should allow to become citizen and has the rights as a citizen has. as most of American was immigrant when first they explored America.
@9FG8WTF2yrs2Y
I do believe that children of immigrants should be granted legal citizenship. If the child comes at an early age and grows up here they are basically citizens of the U.S.
@9F87TCS2yrs2Y
The population would be lass diverse and having the population of the United states remain similar in demographics can cut off the country from opportunity and connections politically and socially around the world
@9FFTXHM2yrs2Y
immigration isn't as bad as it sounds most immigrants are here to make a new life they are hard if not harder then most American people
@9F7453G2yrs2Y
Despite their parents being illegal, the children will be born on American soil, making them a citizen. It's not illegal to be born in a place, so I don't believe they should not be granted citizenship but don't separate the family. If you separate the family, we'll just have an orphan in a holding cell basically.
@9FGFTQX2yrs2Y
The current presidency is allowing criminals and mentally insane citizens to infiltrate our country. All who enter the US should come here legally, learn English, and pass a US citizenship test. They should NOT have free handouts either.
@9F6XP632yrs2Y
The 14th Amendment says that almost any child born on US soil obtains citizenship, and the only people this does not apply to is foreign heads of state or foreign diplomats whose children are born in the US
