Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date, the United States has provided Israel $150 in bilateral assistance and missile defense funding since the country’s founding in 1948. Nearly all of U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the form of military assistance. In fiscal year 2022 the Biden administration requested $3.8 billion in military aid for Israel.

We should give full support to Palestine
@9W2JPZP9mos9MO
Hell no. On Oct. 7, 2023, terrorists from Palestine murdered over 1200 Jews, taking even more hostage. It was the largest mass killing of the Jews since the Holocaust. I feel I am more biased because I myself am Israeli, but even if I wasn't, I'd still be on Israel's side. Israel has the right to defend itself and do anything to get the terrorists out and bring the hostages home.
@Renaldo-MoonGreen 9mos9MO
And since then Israel has killed 40,000 innocent Palestinians. They bombed schools, hospitals, water treatment plants, UN aid centers, and cut off all food to Gaza. There is no food or clean water in Gaza and thousands of children are starving to death. They've since taken actions against Lebanon killing thousands of civilians there. They destroyed the main port that food goes into Yeman causing thousands to start starving to death. Israel is committing war crimes on a daily basis and and no one is lifting a finger to stop them.
@4SDT7HN9mos9MO
What reasoning do you have for this? Why would we support a country that invades a neighboring country and kidnaps its people?
Yes, but also respect the plight of the Palestinians.
@9M7PD4L1yr1Y
Impossible. You can't fund the murder of Palestinian children and pretend to "respect" their plight as well. That's as worse as hypocrisy gets.
@jsimicConstitution10mos10MO
But you can support the murder of Jewish children and pretend they deserve to live?
BTW, are these Hamas centers conveniently placed in orphanages and schools?
It's almost like Hamas wants Palestinian children dead so Westerners can condemn Israel when Hamas is committing war crimes.
@Renaldo-MoonGreen 9mos9MO
Most of these so called "Hamas centers" were fabricated by Israel as an excuse to attack schools, hospitals, and orphanages. Also all the weapons that were ever found in "Hama's strongholds" all had the IDF's logo embossed on them, meaning either Israel gave them to Hamas or Israel planted evidence.
@B4NDKJQ3mos3MO
Yet another example of the phenomenon of the most insane conspiracy theories coming from the left seeing the light of day, whereas on the right, they are patently dismissed offhand.
There should be an audit of where money is going, and we should stop aiding them until they stop intentionally targeting civilians in Gaza.
Yes, but only after insuring that Israel fully protects human rights in the occupied areas of Palestine.
Yes, but offensive military aid should be conditioned on Israel’s respect for human rights and international law
Not until Palestinians have been granted either an independent state or equal civil and political rights within Israel.
No, in reality, we should be supporting Palestine - the victims.
Yes, but increase pressure on Israel to improve its record on Arab minority rights and adhere to internationally agree borders.
@9C4MSQH2yrs2Y
The Zionst entity is a terrorist cult. We must end all ties and aide to the Zionist entity aka Boycott and Divestment. Furthermore, we must put sanctions on the Zionist entity and put warrants out for all US citizens that normalize the Zionist entity.
@TonyForCA 2yrs2Y
No, the United States should support Palestine
Yes but it should be made abundantly clear which side their bread is buttered. They are effectively a client state of the United States as an instrument of our interests in the region and we will not tolerate arbitrary action on their part outside our reasonable acquiescence. Failure to comply with this must be meet with regime change and forceful recalibration.
@9D4PZNG2yrs2Y
Use US AID as a way to leverage Israel to end the settlements outside of their borders.
No, we should give support to Palestine.
Yes, but with the same expectation we have for any ally: to act with responsibility, restraint, and respect for human life.
More pressure regarding the humans right situations in Gaza and West Bank, but definitely defend existence of world's only Jewish state
Though I'm not fully educated on this topic, I believe that the US should maybe compromise with Israel ( not really sure how that would look ), and gear towards ending the killings of the palestinian people. I also believe Palestine should receive wayy more money and resources than they have right now.
Yes support,however, emphasis should be on cease fire, peace negotiations and getting the hostages released.
@9ZD4WVV8mos8MO
Yes but only if they end war in Gaza, respect Palestinian human rights, and agree to 2-state solution while helping victims of war in Gaza.
Work toward a 2 state solution and refuse to fund any nation if sufficient evince of war crimes emerges.
Yes, but it should also provide advice regarding the Israel Palestine conflict to end war and to promote peace
We should support Israel for defending themselves. But stop sending weapons and aide to support the genocide/human rights violations.
No, we should require Israel to follow conventional war practice and end any targeting of civilians before providing funding.
There should be limitations based on the Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank. The current Israeli government needs to stop its persecution of civilians in Gaza and, if that means withdrawal of aid, so be it.
Yes, but decrease aid and tax payer dollars on a unfavorable war that doesn't not impact US security and common interest.
Israel is an ally so it is pretty unlikely for the US to be less involved. However, a balanced approach and help for both parties involved would be best.
I believe we should allow Israel to protect themselves from those who are attacking them (terroristic groups, etc.) and help get out innocent people from Palestine.
No and yes what Iseral is doing to be there own country is wrong but they do have a right if they want to be a country they just have to do it the right way and right now they are not by murdering innocent people.
@9XSWWP28mos8MO
We should be funding and sending military to Palestine, and not be sending aid to Israel to attack Palestine. We should only help Israel to defend, not to attack.
No help the people who need it who have been effected negatively by the war but we should not be giving weapons and aid to the people causing the war.
We should support Israel’s defense but demand that support be tied to non-use of weapons against civilian populations.
Yes, but the government should set a hard line with Israel to protect civilians and follow international law and norms
@9XLP7T68mos8MO
I have zero clue what is going on nor do I care. It is way too complex for me to understand, and all sides have valid reasons. I leave this question with no answer.
it doesn't matter to the fact that the US is preventing war by supporting them even though they've done wrong.
Instead of providing military funding, we should give civilian support to both Palestine and Israel.
@9XB86DR8mos8MO
Both Israel and Palestine have committed atrocities to each other but regardless of Israel the Middle East hates us and it's better to have an ally there then not.
Not only should the U.S pull out and stop aiding israel they should forcefully end the conflict that israel is continuing to start. We sold and gave them their equipment. We can take it back.
I say that they should fund them. BUT not as much as they’re because it’s causing more destruction and death that it should
I think completely cutting off israel is dangerous knowing what they are capable of. They have been our allies for a long time, but they have created unspeakable horror to the people of Gaza. Even if they are our allies, we need to tell them to relax for the sake of humanity.
Yes, but threaten to cut all aid and support to Israel for the war to end and a two-state solution is done.
Require Israel to negotiate a peace with Palestine and require Israel to agree to a two state solution. Require Palestine to hold free and fair elections for leadership and denounce Hamas and terrorism as a method to establish two state solution. Require Israel to allow Palestine its territory and Israel should pay reparations to Palestine for the destruction caused - a reconstruction period.
Yes, but decrease military support. Continue to supply relief aid and share intelligence information.
I don't have enough information on this topic, but from what I have seen they are exterminating people in the gaza strip.
We should continue to support them as ally's, but we should impose stricter arms restrictions on them so as to end the war.
Support citizens, and Israel if they don't massacre or purposely target citizens, and make them descalate.
The government should not ethically be supporting Israel, but they are one of our allies and just cutting all support and aid will result in a conflict with Israel.
I don’t care. All the GOD, GUNS , and GLORY LIL TRUMPKINS MOST LIKELY SAY NO EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIM TO BE GOOD LITTLE CHRISTIANS!
@9WP3WMY9mos9MO
No, we shouldn't support the Israeli government nor Hamas, we should focus on a new country where Jewish and Muslim people are equal under a democratic government.
Yes, but it should hold Israel accountable to the same human rights violation standards that it holds all other foreign aid to
Yes, for delicate economic reasons we should continue aid to Israel, but we should push for the protection and aid of innocent Palestinian citizens. At most, we could threaten to take away aid for Israel with the backup of our allies.
The government of Israel is the definition of a terrorist nation. They have conveniently forgotten their past and are destroying a nation. We can support them but establish firm guidelines
Yes but have stipulations so their leader is not committing war crimes. And making sure the people of Palestine are protected and get the hostages back. US should help negotiate a 2 state solution and help Palestine have good leadership not terrorist groups
Yes, but support Israel enough only to prevent tension or war from happening between the U.S. and Israel, not more to the point of giving Israel power to oppress other smaller countries
I think the main thing that the U.S. should be doing is trying to stop the war altogether. But I do think Palestine has undergone much more destruction and we should be funding them.
Yes, but military aid should be conditioned on Israeli respect for human rights and international law.
Yes, but in limited capacity, only in so far as to ensure they can continue to exist and protect itself. We should hold them accountable for consequences of their military actions like excessive civilian casualties and regional escalation. We should not support their ground invasion of Lebanon or a large scale attack against Iran that would escalate conflict in the Middle East. We should also push for the respect of the rights of Palestinians and the eventual establishment of a democratic state in a two-state solution.
@9WHG5N2Peace and Freedom9mos9MO
NO! Israel is committing suicide to innocent Palestinians that have done nothing but stay in their land. Israel has no human rights for Palestinians, destabilization of the Middle East. (Israel screwed the Middle East) Imbalance in peace efforts, U.S. Financial priorities,(the US spends or should I say waste billions of dollars just to support Israel. JUST for Israel to kill more people.), and International law violations. In conclusion, there was and would never be peace in the Middle East since Israel is in the Middle East. I do want a land for the Jewish people, but they could've thought of a better place to go. It's not safe for both Palestinians and Jews.
Yes, but we should put restricts in place to protect Palestinian civilians from being killed and use our influence to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
We should support Israel and leverage our support to influence Israeli decision making in the region to be conducive to ours and our allies shared interests.
All Aid and Support should be contingent on Israel meeting human rights requirements, allowing UN Peacekeepers and periodic inspections to ensure Israel is not committing human rights violations or crimes.
we should support both country's rights to sovereignty while also recognizing the terrors brought to both country's
No because then we are at more risk for attack. So maybe help them less and keep it secret and more quiet.
@9VYP8T99mos9MO
Yes, but only defensive military support conditioned on an all-sides cease fire and significantly increased humanitarian aid to Palestinians
At the current point in time, no, as Netanyahu is abusing his power and committing war crimes. However, we should not just abandon our longtime allies.
The United States should respect Israel's right to defend itself but heavily pursue a ceasefire and two-state solution.
Yes, we must support the people of Israel, but hold their government leaders accountable for genocide.
We should not be funding the Genocide of Palestine. We should aid in locating and removing terrorist groups, but not in the blind strike killing of civilians. The U.S. should remove funding and aid from Israel until it reforms its tactics.
We should use our leverage to push Israel to stop violating human rights, even as we recognize it has the right to defend itself. We need to help Gaza and Palestine be free also.
Declare war on Israel, and cut all aid and support, as they are attacking many countries and others are catching strays from the conflicts.
Again I do not know enough about this issue to make an educated opinion. However with how divided our country is about this conflict we should probably not be spending of the tax payers dollars on this conflict.
Israel should have the right to exist and defend itself but not to cause violence to other countries and peoples.
Fund Israel and Palestine equally but contingent on reducing apartheid and supporting a two state solution.
@9SB4D7B11mos11MO
Yes, but hold Israel responsible for crimes committed, as well as Hamas/Palestine. We should NOT send out own troops into battle.
Support them enough to where Israel is still happy with us but not enough to anger the other places that hate Israel.
We need to stop supporting this administration and it's handling of Palestine, but overall wanting to keep positive relations.
We should continue to support Israel, but with limitations. They are justified to fight their war with Hamas. They are not, however, fighting it justly. I would support cutting back support until they resort to more just means. Furthermore, we should support the creation of a Palestinian state, and support its harmony with Israel and other states in the region.
yes but that does not mean we need to provide weapons for military actions that involve human rights violations
No Palestinians should be collateral. Isreal has the right to defend themselves against Hamas, but they do not have the right to kill innocent civilians.
@9RW8TXJ11mos11MO
No, the US should divest military support for Israel with exception for humanitarian aid and complianc
Yes. However, we should be much more selective with how we support them. We should not help them continue to bomb Gaza and drive out Palestinian civilians. Sadly, I believe the US government is complicit in a genocide of Palestinian people, perpetrated by politicians from the Israeli far-right, who have destroyed Israel's democracy.
Conditional support on the basis of respect for human rights and dignity of all residents, including Palestinians, and Not the current administration.
Cut all aid as they are committing war crimes. Consider reestablishing aid post war & with a government not run by Bibi and his ilk. Increase aid for Palestinians.
We should support Israel's right to defend itself, while demanding that they remove settlements in the West Bank.
Not for the Netanyahu administration. Until there is a change in leadership that respects the lives of Palestinian citizens
we need to chill. yes we need to help but instead of fixing the government and leaving them with no aid is dumb. we need to have people’s who’s jobs it is to help reset up governments and things
Yes, but do not renew financial assistance once it has expired and pursue a mutual defense treaty instead
Yes, but military aid should be conditioned on Israel’s respect for human rights and international law
We should support good governance in both Israel and Palestine, encourage democracy, and build a union, similar to the EU, allowing for both countries to have their identity. that allows for the return of Palestinians while fostering a unified identity in the Levant. It is essential to create quality institutions and rehabilitation programs. Sanctions should be imposed on those illegally settling in the West Bank and Gaza. Additionally, we should promote the development of Gaza and the West Bank to improve living conditions for their residents.
@RobinHoudeSocialist 1yr1Y
No, we should withhold military aid as long as Israel continues committing human rights violations, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and genocide
Support their existence but we should temporarily stop giving them military and financial aid until they stop the current war and promise they won't restart it when they can
@9K99V29 1yr1Y
No, at least not the current administration; and regardless both entities should be far less involved with each other
@9K99V29 1yr1Y
No, at least not the current administration; and both entities should be far less involved with each other
Yes, We should continue to support Israel, but we should try to help end the war and achieve a lasting solution to the conflict.
Yes, but make military assistance contingent on good-faith negotiations towards a two-state solution
