Should the electoral college be abolished?
No, the electoral college ensures representation of the whole country instead of just major cities
If the desired outcome is solely the interests of more rural areas not being entirely drowned out, isn't that the entire goal of the Senate only allowing two seats, and local and state governments having a much larger influence on daily life? Why should people who live in the city's votes be worth less (which the Electoral College causes by the way it is structured) instead? How is it any fairer to have their interests weighed less heavily?
Beyond that, you do not get to choose your electors, and there is no voter feedback on who is an elector or way to ensure they accurately represent your interests. How is that an effective function of our election and party funds?
