Our defense team is becoming more stupid because their are more criminal cases in 2025 and nothing is being taking into hands.

I haven’t heard much about him but based on overall performance of our defense policy, I wouldn’t rate him high.

The Deputy Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Defense have not been apolitical (showing favoritism to President Trump’s priorities) and have set back the U.S. Defense Strategy. The U.S. Military should be focusing on large-scale combat operations, not focusing on counterterrorism and the border crisis. There has been an extreme loss of confidence in the administration’s capability to provide competent guidance, defense priorities, and ethical decision-making.

Same reason as the last because I have no real idea of what they're doing, I have barely any idea of what they do without having to do extensive research. I think that the new gen will connect us back being more transparent in a way that I don't feel like I should have to deep dive into the information to know for sure and I can trust them again. The only thing he has done is rename things and cause political division

He recently passed a policy where journalists will be required to take a pledge to report in the Pentagon where every article written (even those which have disclosed information) must be approved. I think it was extremely unnecessary to rename the Department of Defense to Department of War?

He presents himself as doing a lot while he fails to really do much. I'm not a big fan of his ego.

The current policies of the Department of Defense (now called Department of War) only arbitrarily detract from major issues without truly addressing any problems. These strategies prop up a poorly performing administration by pulling away from civil issues that matter more.

I don't know much about him but I feel like the current administration is failing especially when it comes to matters of defense and conflict.

The DOD has been kinda *** under Hegseth, so I don't believe the dep secdef is doing a good job by association

Pete Hegseth is a blubbering idiot who can't even do a pull up. The vast majority of the military does not respect him from my understanding, which is catastrophic in the case of a war breaking out.

Renaming the department of defense to department of war is unnecessary. Their job is to defend the U.S. against threats, not aid a mass genocide which was not against us.

We don't need to go invade other countries right now. We need to focus on our own estates first but no matter who the president chooses, we will never have a leader that will care about the American people.

Committing acts of war without congressional approval

The bombing of venezuelans on boats that are “transporting drugs” is disgusting. There’s zero evidence that they’re actual narco terrorist. I would rather arrest them and prosecute them in court than blowing them up.

He is completely unqualified and lacks the experience and expertise needed to lead the Department of Defense. He prioritizes political ideology and loyalty over efficient policy and national security.

I feel like he hasn't done the best compared to others who have had the job.

Instead of properly conducting himself in his position, he serves the president and his whims. He acts as if he doesn't have any say in the government

The reason I give this rating is because of how the government is now. The government is shut down in some places.

Private Equity Firms are doing real harm every single year to American businesses and consumers alike. Given that he's the Co-founder of Cerberus, and how their practices are almost exclusively about returns to investor returns and almost never about long term health of companies (and thus workers). Pete Hegseth is a highly-qualified man. However, in press addresses, speeches, and foreign affairs, he has shown major incapability and dishonesty towards the American people and media.

When Donald Trump appointed him to Secretary of Defense, he only appointed him because he was a friend even though he didn't have any of the credentials to work his way up to that position. And he's done a horrible job while in that position.

Cause nothing seems to be going right, so I have no idea what this position is doing to help that.

Money is being spent on defense when there is nothing threatening the US.

The deputy should be pushing back on the secretary to follow all rules and regulations, especially security protocols and not just going along with the secretaries idiotic policies.

I do not think the SoD has clear and effective policies in Ukraine or Palestine, and I disagree with the approach.
