Seems a bit strange to go for a ceasefire on the eve of victory, but perhaps they think risk-reward…

We've been hearing that since the start of the war with no real advances whatsoever. Truth is Ukrainians fought bravely in defending the country (after being manipulated into helping the CIA provoke a war), but the best they were ever going to be able to do was hold off the Russians for a while until Russia mobilized enough to overpower them with their superior numbers and equipment. They should have followed through with the peace agreement a month into the war. NATO can't fight a ground war like we've seen in Ukraine. This is just Bay of Pigs but on a monumental scale and risking nuclear war too. Our Western leaders are completely delusional, they've lost rich with reality.
Yeah and with another 1 million dead russian soldiers for Kharkiv.
How many soldiers can russia spare?

A lot more than Ukraine can. But I'm all for it if he does want a ceasefire now, almost always better to save lives on all sides and kick the can down the road in hope of a peaceful solution.
