If you learned hostages were being sexually abused and dying, would this change your stance on how far your government should go to rescue them, including assassination of hostile leaders?

 @9LD6N2VPeace and Freedom from Ohio  commented…2yrs2Y

If you learn someone has been torture in such a way, it should motivate you to give them as much justice as possible. Although, you should already be trying as much as you can to help them.

Is assassinating a leader of a hostile group abroad justified if it could potentially save lives, even if it escalates conflict?

I think the news topic should consider being a republic to realize about what a democratic president can do to this country. So I prefer being republican because I care about paying my taxes, buying things I need, afford buying a house, etc.

Would you support your government exchanging prisoners for the safe return of hostages, knowing those released could pose a future threat?

 @9LD5CKM from California  commented…2yrs2Y

I generally support this but some types of prisoners such as assassins and spies should never be an option for exchange with civilians.

 @AwedLeopardGreen from Pennsylvania  commented…2yrs2Y

Getting the hostages out at all costs, not invading rafah and allegedly handling the repercussions is a terrible idea, the exact type of thinking that led to October 7th. Let's hope this doesn't transpire.

 @WingedBl4ckBoxPeace and Freedomfrom Louisiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

This is more of a reaction to what the government is doing, than a strategy the IDF wants to pursue.

The desperation is on ! Big mistakes are coming. Palestinians will definitely have a state

 @ThrillingUnanimousDemocrat from Connecticut  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We've been trying to give them a state since 1948. They don't want one.

 @VenisonNickGreen from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

False. Palestinians want a state - but only one from the River the Sea, with 80% of its current inhabitants sent to the bottom of the Mediterranean or at best to Poland.

 @ArdentAbaloneRepublicanfrom California  commented…2yrs2Y

Releasing more than 1:1 is a tragic mistake because it makes hostage taking more worthwhile. I still don’t get why they allow an enemy that is losing to have leverage, it should be the other way around.

 @WhitingBruceDemocratfrom North Carolina  agreed…2yrs2Y

Because the enemy is losing in military terms, while you are losing in public opinion terms.

If you were taken hostage, I would hope they would trade whoever for you.

If the invasion in Rafah isn't going to happen wouldn't Hamas just be able to rebuild its ranks? What happened to not partially putting out a fire?

 @SuperiorPublicPolicyDemocrat from Kansas  agreed…2yrs2Y

Hamas obviously won't be able to re-take control of north Gaza if there is a fortified line of Israeli troops bisecting the strip, and cacking any "police" commanders that try to re-establish order like they've spent the past 6 weeks doing.

 @JudicialClaireRepublican from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Nobody is ‘stopping you’ from destroying Hamas, we are asking what is your plan to do this without killing civilians you -told- to go shelter there?

What’s the plan for the day after?

What’s the plan to feed Gaza? You’re just going to rely on int orgs after what just happened?

 @CockyRuffsGreen from New York  commented…2yrs2Y

Why doesn't Israel understand - just like Pals are not interested in some land for their state but only want the whole thing so it is with the prisoners, and on top of it, they only want those prisoners to show that Israel can be defeated, Hamas first priority is to survive

 @LionJoshSocialist from Pennsylvania  commented…2yrs2Y

That's an excellent strategic shift. Assuming, of course, that your goal is to ensure a far bloodier conflict in the not-too-distant future.

Any other goal and it's a disaster.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you balance the moral dilemma of taking aggressive actions, like assassination, against the urgency of saving lives from hostile captivity?

 @EuphoricActiv1stPatriot from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

What took so long with #3? Didn't understand why Israel allowed Haniyeh to travel the world, marry wife #7 like he doesn't have a care in the world.
