Better wages? because providing for dependents costs more than the services that fall under 'benefits' I don't know, I'm sorry.

I think job benefits are better since you have better things, and with a higher salary it would only be a small plus on your salary,

Higher wages. Getting a pizza party after 100 hrs of overtime is all well and good, but that's no replacement for staff retention in the long term.

Dozens killed in Israeli "massacre" on Gaza tent camp

At least 19 people have been killed and many wounded in an Israeli strike on a designated “safe zone” in southern Gaza, according to officials.A spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defence said the initial assessment of the scene suggested the attack was “one of the most heinous massacres in this frenzied war”.Gaza’s Health Ministry said the bodies of the victims recovered so far had arrived in hospitals after the missile attack on a tent camp in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, where Palestinians were sheltering, early on Tuesday. Israeli attacks have frequently hit areas where its military had previously directed civilians seeking safety.“A number of victims are still under the rubble, under the sand, and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them and retrieve them, and they have not reached hospitals yet,” the health ministry statement noted, while reporting the lower death toll.“The people were buried in the sand,” one witness, Attaf al-Shaar, told The Associated Press. “They were retrieved as body parts.”“Dozens are still missing and the civil defence have been digging with their bare hands to get the people out,” reported Al Jazeera’s Mansour Shouman.

The leaders of many national unions have appeared more cautious, at times emphasizing the precipitating role of Hamas.The leaders, who are generally elected, may reflect the views of most of the 10 percent of U.S. workers who belong to unions. But that percentage has been dwindling for decades. By contrast, the portion of the labor movement that has been growing rapidly in recent years — Starbucks baristas, REI workers, graduate students, medical residents — skews young and to the left, precisely the demographic that cares most about the war in Gaza.“Insofar as the new energy is about those young people — and it mostly is — part of what comes with that is Gaza being a high priority,” said Ruth Milkman, a sociologist who studies labor at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.Members of teachers’ unions have also parted company with their parent union. At the American Federation of Teachers convention this summer, when some members sought to amend the resolution on Gaza so it would call for a suspension of U.S. military aid to Israel, the convention’s chair did not allow the motion to go forward.

Harris campaign office damaged by gunfire in Arizona

Police are investigating what appears to be gunfire damage overnight at a Democratic Party-coordinated campaign office for Vice President Kamala Harris.The incident occurred just a few days before Harris is scheduled to visit Arizona as she campaigns for president.“We can confirm that on 9/23/24, what appears to be damage from gunfire at … a DNC Campaign Office, was discovered,” Tempe police said in a statement to NBC News on Tuesday.Tempe police said that officers responded Monday after calls from workers, and that they observed what appeared to be gunshots through the front windows of the office which is shared by staff members for the Arizona Democratic Party, the Harris campaign and Senate and House campaigns to boost turnout for the party in November.“No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby,” Public Information Officer, Sgt. Ryan Cook said in a statement Tuesday.The apparent gunfire marks the second incident of criminal damage at that office in recent weeks, according to Tempe police, who said that just after midnight on Sept. 16 the office’s front windows were hit with what appeared to be a BB gun or pellet gun.Sean McEnerney, the coordinated campaign manager for the state Democratic Party, also confirmed the incident in a statement.
