Critical Race Theory is not a proper theory. The basis of any working theory are typically assumptions that are basic and for the most part unassailable. CRT basis itself on assumptions with myriad countervailing evidence that disprove the assumptions being made. Since CRT is an offshoot of postmodernism and other "critical" theories, CRT can be reduced to power dynamics between intersections (primarily of demographics). So if you are wealthier than someone else, you are, by definition, the oppressor. Whites always oppress blacks but is hidden under the terms whiteness and blackness… Read more

Critical race theory is best defined as the belief that throughout the course of history disadvantages have been in place for the minorities within the united states specifically. Due to factors of race and class and it's rather important that we teach this.

The problem with your definition is that most CRT scholars would only partially agree. There are at least three elements that are at play with CRT; power (who has it and who doesn't), intersectionality (what demographics are adversely affected), deconstruction (the uncoupling between text and meaning). To be clear, the teaching of history along with warts and all (ie slavery, Jim crowe etc...) are not in dispute. CRT expressly advocates that non-whites should actively discriminate against whites. Do you support this?
