If you had more freedom to customize your education, what subjects would you add or drop from your curriculum?

 @9L7HMKSDemocrat from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

If I had the freedom to customize my education I would add topics that pertain more to real life such as teaching children about the role of taxes and the aspects of loans and homes. I would drop classes that become less important as you get older since you have already learned more about them like extra science classes, although I do feel like most of the classes we take are important.

 @9L96F29Independent from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Kids barely pay attention in school as it is and “real life” classes that won’t be relevant to the students for years will just become another requirement that is done to check a box and forgotten by the time they need that info.

 @9L7W74V from Utah  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I would agree with adding classes on personal finance, however dropping classes like science and other STEM subjects should not be the answer. I would say dropping extracurricular classes like religion released time, extra PE, etc. should be more heavily considered.

 @9RLKSFH from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I would add more subjects regarding functioning in society and drop any regarding social theory beyond what could help me in life.

 @9L7HVJS from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Math subjects over Algebra 1 shouldn't be required and chosen. At least they are where I am. Electives should not be required either, it's unreasonable for what is supposed to be choice decisions be required chosen decisions.

 @9L7HRD8 from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

I would like to add curriculums that focus purely on certain careers are more skill-specific and involve hands-on learning.

If entrepreneurs had more freedom from government restrictions, how would this affect your future job prospects?

 @9KCQ2W5Independent from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

It would affect mine a good amount for my job that i want to do

 @9KCY7KT from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Government restrictions are probably there for a reason, and they should help unemployed job searching people, instead of hurt them

 @9KCQ3VH from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

Probably would be better by letting companies have more control over who they hire - makes the market more free.

 @9KHC6LH from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Companies already have the choice in hiring who they want, having more freedom from restrictions will not chance this aspect of it.

 @9KCPJ6V from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it would give America a little more of a chance to get people off the street.

How do you think a reduced foreign aid budget might affect global perception and relations?

 @9KLVQ88Republican from Oklahoma  answered…2yrs2Y

Spending money first at home on our own would help steer any future issues to help anyone foreign or abroad

 @9KLY83Pagreed…2yrs2Y

If you provide aid to a nation that is known to be of bad standing that could cut off ties with other nations that we do business with.

 @9KLVBZXIndependent from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9KLWMNV from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

The US has always been used as an international police force. This should be funded in some portion by those that receive aid. Global perception and relations will initially be hurt because many countries are use to receiving free assistance.

 @9KLTLQJ from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

It might make it look like we are being selfish but at the same time we need to focus son ourselves and help the citizens of the U.S

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would your family adapt to a world where healthcare management is more in your hands?

 @9LH34TW from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

It would be a lot more stressful and annoying to have to figure out which healthcare plan is going to screw us the least.

 @9LH2WRHWomen’s Equality from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel that the government should do more funding for families with this so we can have more freedom with our healthcare.

 @9LH32CBWomen’s Equality from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

It would be amazing, more freely to take care of ourselves without the interference of the government. like with abortions

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Could minimizing mandatory curriculum standards provide more room for creativity in the classroom, or would it be chaotic?

 @9KCPGFL from California  answered…2yrs2Y

It could lead to both depending on where it is being held. It's better to have a looser curriculum for younger students and stricter ones for high school but still allow students to have their own creative freedom.

 @9KHBBQ5 from West Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Too much freedom will lead to a large disparity in outcome, leaving many students undisciplined and undereducated. Schools should not be focused solely on memorization and noncritical thinking, but too much flexibility will lead too many students wayward. There should be a balance of strict discipline and creative problem-solving, and this should apply at all levels. Children need to be disciplined, perhaps even more than the older students. If they're not, they'll be problems when they become those older students.

 @9KFW6P3 from Oklahoma  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I do not see why these are mutually exclusive. I think it is very possible for an academic institution to foster both high curriculum standards and foster creativity.

 @9KCPFK4Green from California  answered…2yrs2Y

I support a s testing ground to see what will and won't work.

 @9KFFT3J from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

This is part of the movement that allows students to get out of working hard and finishing their requirements.

 @9KCPGKL from California  answered…2yrs2Y

It would be more chaotic because there should be things that all must learn

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3yrs3Y

Imagine paying less tax but receiving fewer public services; does that seem fair to you?

 @9T7BBGTLibertarian from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

Seems incredibly fair. Larger government doesn't indicate to utilize the funding it requires in an efficient way. I would argue that smaller government would improve general quality of life and access to these services would be capable of achieving more and providing more.

 @9H784MX from Nevada  answered…3yrs3Y

Government exists to provide protection for its citizens against enemies both foreign and domestic. It exists to enact and enforce laws that are beneficial to the citizenry at large. The absolute minimum should start there. I suspect if Government was forced to spend based on those principles, we would be far better off for it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How could your school be different if it wasn't subject to as many federal or state regulations?

 @9HZJBGZRepublican from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HZJ87M from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

We should have the right to have a say in regulations that are put in place

 @9HZJ7MVLibertarian from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Education wouldn’t be as developed and students might not be able to attend base in discrimination.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How might your daily life be impacted if public services like garbage collection were privatized?

 @9J4VJD8answered…2yrs2Y

Government helps the people with lots of services that we take for granted, and without this help our society would look drastically different.

 @9J4VC4NIndependent from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel as if in this example, it wouldn’t necessarily affect me in any sense.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think volunteer work could replace some government services in your community?

 @9J59JKW  from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes! There are so many ways to get involved and I'd love to see even more.

 @9HTPC9BRepublican from Washington  commented…2yrs2Y

yes i think if the community stepped in more then things could be a little bit diffrent

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3yrs3Y

Do you think a small government would lead to a better or worse education system for our country?

 @9H8SBXXanswered…2yrs2Y

I say a small government would lead a worse education system because a small government would have little to no capability to intervene if the education system is messed up.

 @9H83J4D from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that the idea of a small government could ultimately be good for our education system as it promotes individual freedom and more economic growth for the country.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you believe a small government could handle a big crisis, like a natural disaster, effectively?

 @9HZJCFM from California  answered…2yrs2Y

No, I believe a small government isn't powerful enough to handle one and would most likely need help.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Reflect on a time when you felt empowered to make a difference in your community; could less government involvement enhance that power?

 @9HTMTDRRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I wanted more people to get into sports and less people play video games so often.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3yrs3Y

Should the government step back and let the free market decide our environmental future?

 @9H7V25R from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel there should be a balance, let the free market decide but it is ok for the government to overlook it.

 @9H7TWM7 from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

No, because companies will chase profits as long as they can, even if it means damaging the earth to the point of no return. They will only try to change when it's too late and threatens profits.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Are there areas in your life where you think government involvement is necessary, or can most issues be self-regulated?

 @9HGTL5L from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

we need a stronger military and a stronger president, our current president sucks, all he is doing is sitting on his *** while other major counrtys our laughing at us because our country is a **** ing joke right now.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you propose we balance individual freedom with societal responsibility in our schools?

 @9HHSH9XIndependent from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Take a balanced approach to teaching the pros and cons of both ideologies, also to teaching people to think critically and possibly find a solution none of us have thought of yet.

Is it more important to have a safety net for those in need or to encourage self-reliance through limited government assistance?

 @9J3LH7W from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

A safety net is one thing. Some people are genuinely incapable of working and deserve assistance. Going into debt by trillions of dollars to assist the lazy is ridiculous.

Would you trust businesses more if there were fewer government regulations?

 @9HHFZK9answered…2yrs2Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Can less government involvement lead to more innovative solutions from individuals and businesses?

 @9HT7PF6 from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

I don’t believe the benefits of potential innovation outweigh the guaranteed security given by a larger government.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Would you be willing to take on more personal responsibility in exchange for lower taxes?

 @9HX9VJRfrom Guam  answered…2yrs2Y

Personal responsibility triumphs. However, you need government for protection and security.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3yrs3Y

If the government doesn't build roads and infrastructure, who should, and would they do it fairly?

 @9H5FVP7 from Tennessee  answered…3yrs3Y

Infrastructure and roads should be built by companies and people who want to make a change. They might be able to do it fairly but if they didn't it would just be bad for the citizens of that area.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3yrs3Y

Would you feel more free with a smaller government, or would the uncertainty make you feel less secure?

 @9H7F6XPIndependent  from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

I do believe large government organizations are often wasteful, and I like the idea of striving for efficiency. There's also a lot of stuff that's just not the government's business in my opinion (e.g. individual rights should be more important than mandated behavior unless harm is being done). But I'm not for just cutting taxes without a plan. I think budgets should be reduced for programs and departments that aren't delivering good results. Efficiency and efficacy should be rewarded in government, and this should free up funds to be used to do more good for citizens.
