When you hear about protests in the news, do you feel inspired to act, and how does that look for you?

 @9HVGBDJ from Nebraska answered…4mos4MO

I think it depends on the method of protest, reasoning, and public response.

 @9HVDFMJ from New York answered…4mos4MO

Social activism inspires me to act because it ignites a sense of purpose and empowers me to make a difference. Witnessing individuals and communities come together to fight for justice, equality, and positive change fills me with hope and motivates me to take action. Seeing the collective power of passionate individuals advocating for a better world reminds me that even small actions can have a significant impact. It stirs a fire within me to raise my voice, stand up for what I believe in, and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society. Social activism reminds me that change is possible, and that by joining forces, we can create a better future for all.

 @9HVFWS3 from New York commented…4mos4MO

I'm an optimist in a lot of situations, so this resonates with me a little more.

 @9HV7M3N from North Carolina answered…4mos4MO

I think the best course of action is hearing the protestors points, doing your own research, and once properly educated by reliable sources, form a full opinion and try to have reasonable discussion with anyone who challenges you on it. we should all be capable of calm, civil conversation.

 @9HVBSBG from New York answered…4mos4MO

I don’t necessarily feel compelled to act, but I do look into what is being protested and create my own opinions

Should students be encouraged to participate in social activism from a young age, and why?

 @9H9VHJR from Ohio answered…5mos5MO

Students should be encouraged to participate in social activism for causes they believe in. We the People are the ones who should be building this country and its policies. The more people willing to stand up for their beliefs, the better, and the more our views will be reflected in our law and culture.

 @9H8WJ9V from Texas answered…5mos5MO

I believe it is important to be involved in matters that you care about. It is important to have a voice and develop your opinions .Maybe from learning at a young age your opinions will become more well-rounded as an adult.

 @9H7SND7 from New York answered…5mos5MO

It depends on the movement and what they are trying to promote. Different topics can influence young people's mentality, whilst others can be beneficial to them.

 @9H9XRH5 from Indiana answered…5mos5MO

Students should choose their political beliefs, if they do choose to participate it shouldn't be forced on them.

What song or piece of music moves you to think about social change, and why does it have that effect?

 @9KDJXB6 from Illinois answered…2mos2MO

A lot of rappers come out with music and it's supposed to bring many people together because a large demographic listens to rap

 @9KJZX7P from Washington agreed…2mos2MO

I believe that art in its many forms, not just music, can be used to provide a platform for the artist to express their views and thanks to the first amendment when they can share their beliefs it invites others to and leads to a conversation about different topics.

 @9KJXC4H from Wisconsin disagreed…2mos2MO

Most rappers don't make music to bring people together. Record companies hire writers to glorify a dangerous movie like lifestyle to listeners in order to make a steady profit.

 @9KDJJV4 from Illinois answered…2mos2MO

No song or music has moved me in any way, because I don't listen to any of that music.

What role do you believe celebrities and influencers should play in social activism?

 @9H9JCLQDemocrat from Texas answered…5mos5MO

Since influencers and celebrities are being watched by many people they should help guide social activism based on each individual’s beliefs

Celebrities should use their private wealth and influence to raise funds for causes they support, however their opinions mean absolutely nothing to me.
