Should the federal government elect or abolish the Senate?

Elect, and impose a 2 years mandate and 3 term limit

Elect, and make seats proportional to population.

Make appointment to the senate contingent upon a high level of competence in a relevant field, such as engineering, public health, economics, etc.

Should be appointed by provincial governments, with certain instructions as instructed delegates to restore federalism, to wit each provincial delegation cast as a single bloc, similar to the old US Continental Congress.

Senators should be appointed by provincial Premiers rather than by the Prime Minister.

Elect, and turn the Senate into a party list.

Abolish, the recent corruption scandals have proven that any unelected body of government is detrimental towards democracy

An open ballot of Candidates should be presented to Provincial Legislatures in which 2 will be Elected for terms of 2 and 6 years in each province and appointed as such. It should be a free vote.
