How can radically different cultural traditions teach us about the benefits and challenges of diversity?

 @9JNZTYGDemocrat from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

I dont know what this means, but everyone should be treated with respect for one another.

 @9JPLNWCWomen’s Equality from Texas  agreed…2yrs2Y

Differing cultures provide insight to the mindsets of others and the societal differences that others experiance. However, this can be challanging given personal belifs or the definition of normality for individuals.

 @9JPFBRC from New Hampshire  answered…2yrs2Y

it can teach us that some of the things that we did were wrong and that is how we can learn to make sure that we don't repeat history.

 @9JNZD5T from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

They open us up to a whole new world we've never heard of before or seen. And some people choose to reject it, while some embrace it

How does the idea of a high school student inventing something revolutionary challenge our expectations?

 @9JDGZQF from Oklahoma  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe our "expectations" should be if something revolutionary is created that we should appreciate it no matter who invented it.

 @9JDGSH2 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

i don't expect much from highschoolers, what are they gonna come up with that actual politicians can't?

 @9JDG3QQProgressive from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

People don’t expect Highschool students to care so when a student is extraordinary than it is eye opening

In which ways do radical movements bring attention to issues that might otherwise be ignored?

 @9HKB8RM from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HKB9XJ from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

radical movements bring attention to issues because a group of people are getting together and fighting political movements together and that gathers a lot of attention now in days.

 @9HKBD7C from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

They bring issues into the spot light and can be effective if done in a safe way.

Teach more history on recent conflict in middle east

 @9L92L7B  from Texas  agreed…2yrs2Y

It is important for high schoolers to know what their country has been up to; finding out through different and non-neutral channels could increase resentment for the US government.

 @9L8G7G3 from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

dress code how we get yelled at for the littlest thing

 @9LC3CP3 from Colorado  agreed…2yrs2Y

I do Agree with it, but the student should know and understand why they are yelled at in the first place, and see in their mind if they made a bad choice or not.

 @9SWH8D7 from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Phone ban in all grades for incoming kindergarten students. That or a gym class similar to that of the 60s, segregated by sex for better performance.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Have you ever had to defend a 'radical' idea in a school project or presentation?

 @9LFR3JZ from California  answered…1yr1Y

I had because they were saying bad things towards a person's belief which I believe is not right.

 @9LFQGF4 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Radical politics denotes the intent to transform or replace the fundamental principles of a society or political system, often through social change, structural change, revolution, or radical reform.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What's a current event that you think may lead to radical changes in society?

 @9HKB8WV answered…2yrs2Y

I believe the rise of the internet age, coupled with rising populism and disconnect between the establishment and its citizens have all led to an increase in radicalism across the board.

 @9HKBQDG from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

people think you have to be on one side of the spectrum and not on another side.

 @9HKB66V from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

It might change other people's views and make them believe in what the foreigners believe

 @9HKDCM6answered…2yrs2Y

Probably the overturn of roe v Wade because it caused massive outrage between women and increased feminism.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you think our planet's environmental challenges might benefit from radical thinking?

 @9HYYLY8 from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

Because the need for change is so dire, I think radical moves to decrease atmospherical temperature would be beneficial.

 @9J4RZ7PRepublican from Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Radical action against climate change will not stand. Although I believe there needs to be action taken against climate change, radical action will only infuriate, and not persuade, people who are opposed. Instead, climate change needs to be addressed in a more subtle way, indicating that the fate of future generations, including our children, could be at stake if climate change is not combated efficiently.

 @9HYYZQXanswered…2yrs2Y

I believe that if we conserve the energy we put into electrical appliances and factories, the environment that we live in currently would not be polluted which decreases the climate change problems affecting us today.

 @9HYYNGWDemocrat from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on who the majority is, either it will help or hinder the situation.

 @9HYZD5K from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that compromise is the only solution to environmental challenges, so radical thinking will not help. It will only further seperate the people and corporations.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If someone called your most passionate belief 'radical,' how would you feel and respond?

 @9HYY7VK from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

I ain’t care what people think about me or my beliefs. I ain’t let people get to me i do me and they can do them.

 @9HZ6WFL from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

Anyone is free to believe what they believe, but you can't make someone else believe in what you believe too.

 @9HYY8Q5Women’s Equality from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I would probably be upset but I wouldn't ne rude about because everyone is entitled to their own opinion

 @9HZSXYXfrom Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I don’t disagree with the response I just think that radical isn’t a bad thing and it means different things to everyone.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Could you justify using radical means if it led to a positive outcome for the majority?

 @9HKBQ8L from South Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HKBCZRRepublican from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Radicalism towards a positive outcome is perfectly fine if someone abides by their morals and by laws.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What's an example of a change in your life that felt radical at the time, but now seems normal?

 @9HT5WFX from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Radical changes in my life occur all the time, because life is ever changing and growing. an example would be when I got my licence, that was a huge change for me but now I drive every day and its a very normal thing.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Have you ever felt that a cause you believe in required a radical solution more than a conventional one?

 @9HT5WFX from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

the only cause that I believe needs a radical solution is the citizens of the united states protecting their god given rights. Many different people and organizations, not just around the world, but in america itself are constantly and consistently trying to take our rights away through many different means, and it is the constitutional right of the people to overthrow the government and start over when this happens. which would be a very radical situation, however it needs to happen.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Have you ever been inspired by someone's courage to embrace an unconventional path in life, and what did that teach you?

 @9KM8465 from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

I was inspired by the courage of Alice Paul that she went on hungar strikes and endured prosecution to achieve voting rights for women.

 @9KM7WXM from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

I have been inspired by the ability of others to break away or "stick it to the man", it's taught me that I don't have to be a cog in a machine.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Why do you think some people fear radical ideologies, while others are drawn to them?

 @9HK9C2C from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Because radicalism is too far and people who are radicalize are more likely to commit violence. Other people who are drawn are likely outcast who need to turn to something.

 @82YT87Q  from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

Mob mentality and frustration. If you can make people hate someone as a community, you can garner favor as their savior.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What historical act of bravery has inspired you to stand up for your beliefs, no matter how unconventional?

 @9JBB4J4Peace and Freedom from Oklahoma  answered…2yrs2Y

Martin Luther King's speech affected a lot of people and how they can speak their beliefs no matter others opinions about it. So I guess MLK changed the way I think about bravery because he stood up when no one would and fought for his freedom.

When has saying 'no' to something popular felt like a radical act, and how did that decision shape your values?

 @9JQ2Z68 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It felt like you shouldn't of had said anything in the first place because then everyone who disagrees will attack me for my beliefs

 @9JQ2NP5 from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

whenever i say no to something i know someone else wants me to do and i would do it to make them happy but instead chose my own happiness and do what i want

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you defend your support for or against a radical idea in a classroom debate?

 @9LJJT4H from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

I would start off with letting people know that it is okay to believe what they want to believe everyone has their on beliefs when it comes to political and religious belief and then start with what I believe and why

If a friend suggested a radical way to solve a common problem, how open would you be to trying it, and why?

 @9J7V33P from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

If a solution fits the problem then I do not see why it would be a problem. Now, if the solution is something that would harm other people or put them at risk then that should not be an option.

 @9J7TYJ9 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

It would depend on how radical it would be, I could always come to a compromise with them and then might try it because the experience of doing things to create memories is something that we cannot take back because this is our only life.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Is it ever acceptable to support radicalism that disrupts societal norms but aims to improve the common good?

 @9HCZV9PGreen from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

In certain cases, yes. But Radicalism should never involve violence. Violence will only bring more violence, not positive change.

If the opportunity presented itself, would you participate in a protest for a cause you're passionate about, and why?

 @9KHG48L  from South Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Participating in a protest for a cause one is passionate about can be seen as a form of civic engagement and a means to effect positive social change. Here's why:

1. Amplifying Marginalized Voices: Protests allow marginalized communities and individuals to have their voices heard and their concerns acknowledged. Participating in a protest allows one to stand in solidarity with marginalized groups, advocating for their rights and demanding justice.

2. Challenging Power Structures: Protests can challenge existing power structures and systems of oppression. They can draw attention to inequali…  Read more

What’s a belief you hold that others in your circle might see as radical, and how does that shape your identity?

 @9K8V9G4 from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

Cultures are different. If it was otherwise - there would be no war, no immigration and no borders. If there is something to secure and take, than it has to be. I personaly expirienced difference in cultures as a ukrainian who contacted many people from the west and Russia at the same time. They are very different and I can specifically point were one culture is superior to another.
