No. The voters should be able to put the same person in office over and over again as long as they are representing the majority. I see that you have a congressional district question and THAT is what is in need of the greatest reform measures.

Term limits should be set; however, if it is thought that there needs to be a certain amount of experience, extend the terms, but only allow them to serve the one or two limits. A life time of sitting in government leads to too much cronyism and corruption.

No, but all elections should be government funded and no private funds or ads should be allowed. Equal access to media, many debates of greater depth and substance, and opinions posted by the public on the web.

Yes, but set to two consecutive terms. They can flip-flop between House and Senate, but then they must sit out one complete election at the Federal Level

Limit the number of successive terms to two. After that they must take an election cycle off. They can run again after that one term break.

Cut congressional pay to the avg wage. Cut their staffs to 2(total) each. They are supposed to be "citizen" legislators. NO pensions!

Whether or not there are term limits, the real issue is the fact that Congressional employees receive a pension for life, whether they serve one term or a full career. I think the benefits received post service should be like the military retiree and based on number of years served and, at a reduced monetary amount. The Congressional benefit system is totally out of line with the normal working industry who do not receive income unless they have contributed to a retirement plan and/or worked for 15 - 20 years with a company.

No, the American people need to understand that if they are unsatisfied with an elected officials performance they have a civic duty to try to vote that official out of office. Term limits are a passive aggressive way of saying to officials that the constituency doesn't like you.

Term limits tend to make politicians care less when they can't be re-elected. No limits means people can spend a lifetime in government and lose touch with real life.

I therefore favor mandatory one-term sabbaticals every two terms for members of congress.

Absolutely!!We have people on both sides of the aisle that have never held a real job in the private sector. Look at our V/P..He has been sucking off the Govt. *** since he was born. Many should have been gone years ago. My thoughts.

Yes. And no lifelong retirement salaries or benefits. Pay for time served. Done. No career politicians.

 @JDQLL6 z Texas odpovězeno…3 roky3Y

I would only be for term limits if those that served in Congress were not allowed to draw a pension.

 @JDQBYF z Mississippi odpovězeno…3 roky3Y

Experience is good, but having people in there for too long leads to a stagnation of ideas and opinions.

Term limits should be for no more than 12 years to be served, after which a 6-year break should be required befor one could be voted back in.
