World War 1 started because of the assassination of the duke of austria because austria was attacked they very quickly moved to war because they thought that whoever was behind it was working with the government of their country. Now if the united nations was around during this time first austria would've had to explain the UN what happened and a trial could have taken place to determine what really happened. Without it the process would not be a judicial process but who ever could fire first.

The United Nations represents this new world in which we solve international problems through diplomacy and sanctions, not by killing old people. The United Nations is one of the best tools we have to continue and support this effort.

We need to fix this country before we take care of anyone else. This country has become that person who literally bleeds themselves dry in order help other people. We need to take time to nurture ourselves, maybe put the ice cream down, go take a spin class haha or how ever you wanna work out. You know maybe stop letting some of our useless ex boyfriends ( ie politicians) come around. Really work on ourselves and come together as a whole.

Not that expensive, 12.5 billion may seem like a lot but it is .002% of the yearly tax revenue of 4.9 trillion. In contrast, think of how much more we would have to spend if we didn't have the security of mutual defense treaties facilitated by the United Nations. This is part of why I think it is a worthwhile investment.

While the percentage of tax revenue might seem insignificant compared to the overall budget, it's important to consider the potential uses of this amount within the country. For instance, the $12.5 billion could be utilized for domestic issues such as public health, education, or infrastructure. As for the mutual defense treaties, they are indeed significant, but aren't exclusive to the UN. The U.S. has separate defense agreements with many countries. Could such bilateral agreements serve the same purpose more efficiently? What are your thoughts on this?

The League of Nations is an easy example as they were unable to stop Italy's invasion, occupation, and exploitation of Ethiopia in the 1930s, they were also unable to mediate the Spanish Civil War, and prevent the start of the Second World war, all because more powerful nations refused to join, or left the League.

Why change something that has kept the peace for hundreds of years, we could risk war or foreign arguments. This disposition would also affect our states and their ability to provide for the people and the nation.

The UN is representative this new world where we solve international issues via diplomacy and sanctions, not by old men sending the youth to die. The UN is one of the greatest tools we have to further and support this effort.

we don't want another world war, since we know that one of the many reasons for the beginning of WWII was that the U.S wasn't part to begin with.

Currently we owe over 1 Billion dollars to the U.N., which we would have to pay if we disband. Plus there is all of the goods we would lose the capability of getting.

If we moved it to like the middle of Europe, where most of the countries in the U.N. are, then it would feel more inclusive because it is closer to more countries.

Cheap products and labor supplied by other nations allows the US to provide relatively high quality of life compared to the nations producing these goods.
